Student answer (Band 8.0)

Dear [Name],

First of all, thank you for seeking my advice on the international student exchange program. It is a wonderful opportunity that allows you to live in a foreign country of your choice and immerse yourself in its culture, academic environment, and technological advancements. I am genuinely excited for you—just as I was when I was selected for the University of British Columbia in Canada.

As you know, I spent a full year in Canada under the international student exchange scheme. Specifically, I was placed at the provincially sponsored University of British Columbia, where I completed my thesis in Human Psychology. During my studies, I also had the chance to volunteer with the Indigenous People Development Department, an organization that works directly with Indigenous communities. Through this experience, I learned about their rich culture, traditions, and their remarkable knowledge of local plant species that have supported their health for centuries. Interacting with the local community taught me invaluable skills, life lessons, and offered a beautiful glimpse into their history.

Although my academic focus was primarily on the human brain and its functions, my time abroad exposed me to the Canadian way of thinking and their unique social evolution. This perspective was entirely different from what I had learned in my home country, and it broadened my understanding both personally and academically.

Given my experience, I would strongly recommend that you participate in this exchange program. It will not only enhance your academic growth but also shape your worldview in ways you cannot yet imagine. I am confident that this journey will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

Please feel free to reach out if you need any further guidance. I am always here to support you.

Warm regards,

Ashiesh
