Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Priya,
I hope my expericences would be helpful for your future study in overseas.
I have studied data analyst course in Canada for one year time period. My this decision was not only beneficial for my educational growth but also it changed my way of living in a postivie manner.
Indeed, Canada offers plenty of facilties for students for example, students have montly pass that they can fill once in the month and use it for the whole month. Moreover, all classes are recored by professors so in case of emergency leave a recorded class lecture provided to you to continue your studies without missing out anything.
I am become self-dependent now because I learned in Canada, each and every student do part time job to pay for their tution fees as well as pay for their other living expenses. Therefore, my year of aborad studied was helpful for me.
Let me know if you want to know any other things
Your regards
Gurpreet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly stated where you studied by mentioning "Canada" and "data analyst course." You described aspects of the country such as public transport facilities and lecture recording policies. You also explained why the year abroad was helpful for your studies by highlighting personal growth, self-dependence, and part-time work culture. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend's sister. Although some ideas could be slightly more expanded to reach a higher band, all parts of the task are adequately addressed. Therefore, this fulfills the criteria for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, starting with an appropriate greeting and ending with a closing sign-off. Ideas are connected using basic cohesive devices such as "Moreover," "Indeed," and "Therefore." However, some referencing is slightly faulty or mechanical, such as "My this decision" and "a recorded class lecture provided to you." Paragraph divisions separate your points reasonably well, but the logical progression between sentences occasionally feels abrupt. These issues place your writing firmly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, with attempts at less common phrases such as "educational growth," "postivie manner," and "self-dependent." However, there are several spelling and word-choice errors that detract from the writing, including "expericences" instead of experiences, "study in overseas" instead of studying overseas, "facilties" instead of facilities, "montly" instead of monthly, "recored" instead of recorded, and "aborad" instead of abroad. These errors do not impede communication since your meaning remains clear, but they prevent the score from rising above Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures ("so in case of emergency leave a recorded class lecture...") and relative clauses. However, there are noticeable grammatical errors and awkward phrasing throughout the text. Examples include "I hope my expericences would be helpful," "My this decision was not only beneficial... but also it changed," and "I am become self-dependent now because I learned in Canada, each and every student do part time job." Punctuation is also occasionally missing or faulty. These errors cause some distraction for the reader, aligning your grammar score with Band 5.5.
