Dear Megha,

I hope you are doing great. It's been so long we havn't meet but your sister come and go everytime from my house. I recieved your letter and couldn't be more than happy that you are pursuing internship from abroad, precisely from the same university as I did.

I completed my bachelors of physiotherapy from Western University, Canada. Believe me this will transit your whole life, our university give internship to students in different long-term cares as well as well-known sports clinics too. Moreover, working on elderly population teaches accountability, compassion, public administration and collaboration. Whereas in clinic, you will see population of different ages with different conditions.

In Canada, if you are bilingual it would be an asset. Here you can experience four different seasons, amongst them fall is my favourite. Talking about food thre are many multi-cusine resturants with varieties of dishes and students can get good discounts. This country will not only examplifies multi-culturalsim but also famous for well-reputed universities and researches.

I am sure you will definitely enjoy new adventures. Let me know if you need any help finding accomodations, I am just one call away.

Thank you.

Lovingly,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You have addressed all parts of the prompt, successfully mentioning where you studied, describing aspects of the country such as the seasons and food, and explaining why the year abroad was helpful for your studies through practical healthcare experience. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the discussion regarding the cultural aspects of Canada remains somewhat brief and general, lacking the deeper elaboration needed for a higher score. Nonetheless, the letter format is appropriate, and you have maintained a suitable, friendly tone throughout the response to Megha.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your letter shows a coherent overall arrangement with a clear beginning and ending. Paragraphs are used to separate different topics, such as your university experience in the second paragraph and life in Canada in the third. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For example, transitional phrases like 'Whereas in clinic' lack a clear subject, and referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in 'amongst them fall is my favourite'. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring smoother transitions would elevate your organisational skills.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You have demonstrated an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms related to your field such as 'physiotherapy', 'accountability', and 'collaboration'. You also make attempts at less common vocabulary items, including 'multi-cusine' and 'multi-culturalsim'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the response, such as 'havn't meet', 'come and go everytime', 'recieved', 'transit your whole life', and 'examplifies'. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they restrict your score due to inaccuracies in spelling and collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You have used a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over your grammatical structures. For instance, conditional patterns like 'if you are bilingual it would be an asset' are attempted. However, there are some errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing auxiliary verbs and incorrect tense usage in 'we havn't meet', preposition issues in 'pursuing internship', and punctuation slips in 'Talking about food thre are many'. These errors occur regularly alongside error-free sentences, but they rarely impede comprehension.
