Dear Carla,
Hope you are doing well. Your elder sister told me about your interest in pursuing studies abroad. I am very much delighted to know that you are following your dream.
i was studing in the university of calgary doing my master degree in social science, and the envirnment their is very fascinating and the teacers are very humble and the students help each other in studies and assignments.
As i am very eager to learn qucikly and i have developed a sense of getting things done on time so that made me and my days in stduing very helpful and i would aso suggest you to do that same and study hard.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the University of Calgary and mention that the teachers are humble and students help one another, so the letter contains some relevant personal information. However, the task is addressed only partially: what you learnt about Canada is not clearly explained, and the benefits for your studies are vague. “I have developed a sense of getting things done on time” describes a personal habit, but you do not show how the experience helped your academic learning. The response also falls 20 words short of the required minimum, leaving little space to develop the three points. Add specific details about the country and explain how studying there improved your knowledge or skills, while keeping the letter focused on Carla.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable opening, several body paragraphs and a closing, and its ideas are broadly grouped by topic. The sequence moves from your study location to your experience and then to advice, which gives the reader a basic structure. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the paragraph beginning “As i am very eager” shifts from your own habits to advice without explaining the connection to academic benefits. Some links are also awkward or repetitive, such as “and” joining several separate points in the description of Calgary. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each paragraph directly to one of the requested points. A more complete closing and consistent letter conventions would also make the organisation feel more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “studies abroad,” “assignments,” and “university,” and the reader can understand the main message. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear or natural, such as “studing,” “envirnment,” “qucikly,” and “humble” for describing teachers. Phrases such as “doing my master degree” and “my days in studying” are also not natural collocations. Aim to use accurate, specific language for the country and academic experience rather than repeating general terms such as “studies” and “helpful.” Proofreading spelling and checking common word combinations will make your meaning easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response uses some simple sentence forms and attempts to combine ideas with “and” and “so,” but the range is limited and the longer sentences are often difficult to control. For example, “i was studing in the university of calgary doing my master degree in social science” lacks a clear, well-formed structure, while “so that made me and my days in stduing very helpful” is grammatically unclear. There are also errors in capitalisation, articles and verb forms, including “i” and “the university” where the institution’s name should be capitalised, and “i hope your studies go smooth.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, then practise adding subordinate clauses accurately. Check sentence boundaries, articles and subject–verb patterns before submitting.
