Dear Sara,

How are you ? I hope you are doing well. Your sister told me about that you are planning to move abroad for your further studies for a year . I am really happy for you. As I had a experience so, I love to share some information with you.

To begin with, I want to tell about my university. I was studing in International Business University which is suited in Toronto, Canada . My course was Masters in Business (Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship) and my course length was 16 months . But I stayed in canada for 2 years because I have a 2 years study permit.

Canada is a beautiful country you can explore many things . I learnt many things from that country. Firstly, I experienced that canadian people are friendy , polite and respectful of different culture. Besides that, I saw a multicultural environment and learnt that how people from different background live together.

You know what, studing abroad was my best decision of my life as, it was very beneficial for me and for my education too. My communication skills were improved and it boost my confidence level while, I did group discussions and presentaion .

I think this information helps you to make your decisions . Best of luck to you for your new chapter of your life and take care.

Best wishes,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points and maintain an appropriate, friendly tone for writing to someone you know. The location is specific—International Business University in Toronto, Canada—and you explain what you observed about Canadian people and the multicultural environment. You also identify benefits to your studies, especially improved communication and confidence during group discussions and presentations. These details make the response relevant and clear. However, the learning and academic benefits are not equally developed: the description of Canada remains broad, and the link between your experience and your university studies could be explained more fully, for example by showing how group work or exposure to different perspectives supported your course. This keeps some ideas less fully developed than others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall structure: an opening, separate paragraphs about your university, Canada, and the benefits of studying abroad, followed by a suitable closing. The sequence is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Firstly,” and “Besides that” help the reader identify the points. The progression is generally logical, though some transitions feel formulaic, and “You know what” is more conversational than necessary in this context. A few sentences also place several ideas together without a smooth connection, such as the explanation of your course length and study permit. Use linking phrases more selectively and make the relationship between details explicit to create a more natural flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main information, including relevant terms such as “multicultural environment,” “communication skills,” and “group discussions.” The tone is generally suitable for a friendly letter. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “things,” “beautiful,” and “beneficial,” and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate: “suited in Toronto” and “share some information” do not express your meaning naturally. There are also spelling errors, including “studing,” “friendy,” and “presentaion,” which make the writing look less controlled. Aim for more precise descriptions of what you learned and check spelling and common word combinations before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, and the reader can understand the main message. Some sentences are controlled, such as “I was really happy for you” in meaning and the description of your communication skills. However, errors in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and punctuation remain noticeable. For example, “Your sister told me about that you are planning” should be “Your sister told me that you are planning,” while “it boost my confidence level” needs “it boosted my confidence.” The sentence beginning “Canada is a beautiful country you can explore many things” also needs clearer punctuation or a connecting word. Review these patterns and aim for more consistently accurate complex sentences.
