Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Payal,
I hope you are doing well. First of all, I am very happy for you when I heard that you will go abroad for your further studies. I would like to share my personal experience which will definitely help you in your journey.
I studied in the Lovely University which is located in Londan. Lovely University has hostel facility which is the most important facility because you have to not have to worried about tha resedential and food problem.
Moreover, I have learned many things about the country. Initially, rules and regulations are very strict of Londan, you should not break any laws and if you did then it will considerd as a crime. Furthermore, people are so polite and humble, they do not interfare in others life and focuse on their personal work.
Studing in abroad plays a vital role in my professional life. I learned about parctical knowledge of my subjects. In the addition, it has also helped me in getting a better job opportunity.
I hope my advise helps you and good luck for your journey.
Best wishes,
Dinesh

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you name Lovely University in London, describe rules and social behaviour, and explain that the experience gave you practical subject knowledge and improved job prospects. The letter is relevant and its purpose is clear. However, some points are only briefly developed. For example, the description of the country is general and would be more informative with a specific example of a rule or a cultural experience. The study benefit is also asserted rather than explained: show how applying course knowledge abroad helped you understand a subject or prepare for your degree. These details would make the response more fully developed while retaining its friendly, personal tone.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about the university, one about the country, one about academic benefits, and a suitable closing. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “In addition” help signal the progression, and the reader can follow the main points. The organisation is therefore coherent, though some transitions feel mechanical, and the ideas within paragraphs could connect more naturally. For instance, the hostel information is introduced as a facility but is not clearly tied to your experience or advice to Payal. Use a wider range of natural links and make the relationship between each example and the main point explicit to strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “rules and regulations,” “polite and humble,” and “practical knowledge.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “plays a vital role.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “Londan,” “interfare,” “focuse,” and “advise” where the noun “advice” is needed. Some expressions are also unnatural or unclear, such as “hostel facility” and “food problem.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations—for example, “student accommodation” and “housing and meals”—and check spelling and word forms carefully. This would make the vocabulary more reliable and easier to read.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate through a mix of simple statements and longer sentences, and the letter’s meaning is generally understandable. Some sentence patterns are attempted, including the conditional sentence beginning “if you did,” but there are several errors in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “you have to not have to worried” is difficult to process; “you do not have to worry” would be clearer. In “if you did then it will considerd,” the tense and passive form do not agree, and “rules and regulations are very strict of London” has an incorrect grammatical relationship. Review verb forms and build longer sentences around a clear subject and verb. More accurate control of these patterns would improve readability.
