Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The letter makes a relevant attempt to describe a study-abroad experience, naming Cambridge University in Toronto, Canada, and mentioning laboratories, staff, campus life, and local manners. However, the task is only minimally addressed: it is unclear where you studied because “Cambridge university, Toronto” may be confusing, and you do not clearly explain what you learnt about the country or how the year helped your studies. The comments about practical explanations and education are too vague to show the academic benefit. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 150 words, which limits how fully you can develop the three requested points. Add specific details about Canadian culture and explain how the experience supported your university course, such as through practical skills or subject knowledge.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic letter format, with a greeting, a closing, and some related information grouped together. The reader can identify a general movement from the university to the country and then to an offer of help. However, the ideas are not arranged in a clear progression, and the long middle section combines facilities, employment, education, and social behaviour without distinct paragraphing. Connections such as “Well” and “Even” do not always make the relationship between ideas clear, while “Here i had learned a lot of things” repeats an earlier general point rather than advancing the letter. Use separate paragraphs for the place, cultural learning, and academic benefits, and connect each point explicitly to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to university life, including “labs,” “staff,” “campus,” “practical,” and “team work,” so the topic is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “job offers conducted by top companys,” “good practical explanations,” and “public gives us good, polite way talk.” Spelling errors, including “stuided,” “Camebrige,” “fecilities,” and “selcections,” also make parts of the message harder to understand. Aim for precise phrases that describe your experience, such as “campus recruitment,” “well-equipped laboratories,” and “people were polite and respectful.” Proofreading spelling and choosing natural collocations would make your meaning clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response mainly uses short, simple statements and attempts a few longer constructions, for example, “It has nice job offers conducted by top companys by Campus selcections.” However, sentence boundaries and grammatical patterns are often faulty, so some ideas are difficult to follow. The opening “I hope doing well!” is missing a subject and verb, and “I am writing a letter regarding university i did stuided” has an unclear clause structure. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “It was excellent University” and “Even outside of the public gives us…” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent. Practise complete subject–verb sentences, then combine related ideas with accurate clauses and punctuation.
