Dear Jaspreet,
I hope you are doing well. I was really happy to hear that you are planning to go abroad for higher education and you need my advice to purse your goal.
Firslty, I need to mention that I went to Waterloo university which is located in Canada. This university taught me several skills such as programming different electronic devices as well as there was commincation class in which I learned how to speak with different culture people. Moreover, there was sports complex which contains number games like cricket, football and many other which I played.
Secondly, the one year in foriegn nation showed me different pathways which I can pursue after the completion of my education. Additionaly, if any individual study in reputated university, they will get good package after the study as well as help a person to increase their circle which will help them for their whole life.
I hope to hear from you soon, Take care and keep in touch.
Yours faithfuly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify Waterloo University in Canada and include some relevant personal details, such as learning programming and taking a communication class. However, the task asks what you learnt about the country, while most of this paragraph describes the university and its facilities. The later claim that studying abroad showed you “different pathways” and that a reputable university can lead to a “good package” is broad and does not clearly explain what you discovered about Canada. You do address how the experience helped your studies, but the link is only partly explained. To make the response more complete, add specific observations about Canadian life or culture and explain how particular learning experiences improved your academic knowledge or skills.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, two body paragraphs, and a closing. The sequence from the university experience to broader reflections is generally understandable, and “Firstly” and “Secondly” signal a change of topic. However, these transitions feel mechanical, and the second paragraph combines several loosely connected claims about career options, salaries, and social networks. The first paragraph also moves quickly from academic skills to sports facilities without explaining how the details relate to the letter’s main purpose. Use clearer links between each point and the recipient’s questions, and organise the body around the three requested topics. This would create a more consistent progression and make the relationships between ideas easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “programming,” “communication class,” and “completion of my education,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “purse your goal,” “different culture people,” “reputated university,” and “good package.” Spelling errors, including “Firslty,” “communcation,” and “faithfuly,” also make the writing less polished. Aim for precise, natural expressions rather than broad phrases: for example, describe the academic skills you developed and the cultural differences you noticed. Checking spelling and common word partnerships before finishing would improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which is located in Canada” and a conditional structure beginning “if any individual study.” The main message remains understandable, but there are recurring problems with sentence construction and agreement. For example, “if any individual study” needs a correctly formed verb, and “they will get” does not agree consistently with the singular subject “any individual.” The sentence beginning “This university taught me several skills … as well as there was” joins ideas awkwardly, while “which contains number games” has unclear tense and article use. Work on building one clear clause at a time, checking subject–verb agreement, and using punctuation to separate related ideas.
