Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three requested points: you identify Toronto, Canada, describe learning ultrasound skills and about the people and language, and explain that the experience helped you gain skills and secure a government job. The advice to take the opportunity also suits the purpose of writing to your friend’s sister. However, the description of the country is less fully developed than the account of your course: “new language and making new friends” gives only a brief impression, and it is not clear what you learned about Canadian culture or daily life. The study benefit is also stated broadly rather than linked to specific ways the experience supported your university studies. Adding one or two concrete examples would make the ideas more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The message has a recognisable letter structure, moving from an opening to your experience, its benefits, advice, and a closing. Paragraph breaks help separate these stages, and phrases such as “Before you take a move” and “Overall” signal transitions. The overall progression is understandable, but some links between ideas are abrupt: the account moves from your course to an internship and then to assessments without explaining how these relate. The sentence beginning “Overall it was a great experience. Which changed my entire life” also breaks the connection between the evaluation and its explanation. Use complete sentences and clearer links between related details, and make the greeting and sign-off presentation consistent, to make the organisation smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “admission,” “internship,” “mentors,” and “government job,” which helps communicate your educational experience. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “fruitful result” and “changed my entire life.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural in context, including “respond you,” “take a move,” “advance machines,” and “make my knowledge extensive.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “eagar,” “acedemic,” “techiques,” and “knowledgable” also reduce precision. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe what you learned about the country using specific terms for culture, customs, or everyday life.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The letter includes both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, such as “Before you take a move, I would like to express my experience” and “I am really glad that you got this opportunity.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include missing or incorrect sentence structure in “recently i recieved your letter i was eagar to respond you,” the fragment “Which changed my entire life,” and the pattern “I would like to guide to for your concerns.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “I Hope” and “MY mentors.” Practise separating joined clauses with full stops or conjunctions, and check verb patterns, articles, and sentence completeness when editing.
