Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries most of the family members work together to make more money.I strongly believe, working together in own family business have many benefits. it gives you more advantages than disadvantages because all family members work equally to maintain common goal.
First of all, in family members share a great sense of trust which makes all the daily business operations easy and smooth.in business we usually see that one person work hard to make business successful but this rule is totally opposite when it comes to family business every individual try to make business more strong and more flow of money.
Moreover, they share the responsibilities to every family member due to their skills they also do quick decisions for example one of my friends have there own family business of cable and internet they divided their responsibilities according to their skills like one person make lists of customers name other go and survey the area and collect the money in every month, and some check the customer complains and in the end of the day they sit together and give honest review on the areas where they need improvement. so in that way they do not need to pay helper and do not need to go out for job hunting.
In conclusion, own business have many benefits. it share close bond to the family members and maintain discipline between them more relax envirnoment at work. do not need any helper for work to pay extra money. responsibilities are divided according to the abilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You answer the question directly, stating that family businesses have more benefits, and support this view with relevant points about trust, shared responsibilities, and avoiding the cost of hiring help. The example of your friend’s cable and internet business makes the discussion more concrete. However, the advantages are not all developed equally: the point about trust is explained generally, while the conclusion introduces a “close bond” and a more relaxed work environment without showing how these result from working together. The response also gives little consideration to possible disadvantages, so the comparison is less complete. To strengthen the argument, explain one or two benefits in more depth and briefly acknowledge a drawback before showing why the advantages outweigh it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction gives your position, two body paragraphs present supporting reasons, and a conclusion restates the view. The example in the second body paragraph also follows naturally from the point about dividing responsibilities. However, some connections between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Moreover” introduces a new point, but the long sentence that follows combines several duties and outcomes without clear boundaries. The first body paragraph also moves from trust to general claims about effort and money without fully explaining the link. Use clearer sentence breaks and refer back to each main idea explicitly. A more focused paragraph structure would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “daily business operations,” “responsibilities,” “skills,” and “customer complaints.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the reader pause. For example, “make business more strong,” “more flow of money,” and “honest review on the areas” do not express the intended ideas precisely. There are also spelling errors such as “envirnoment.” Aim for accurate collocations and a wider range of terms for business benefits, such as efficiency, shared expertise, and operating costs. Checking spelling and choosing natural phrases will make your argument clearer and more polished.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a sentence explaining how the family divides tasks and an example introduced with “for example.” However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur across the response. Examples include “working together in own family business have many benefits,” “one person work hard,” and “one of my friends have there own family business.” Several sentences also run together, particularly the long example paragraph, while sentence openings such as “it” and “so” are not consistently capitalised. These issues sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and article use, and divide long sentences into shorter, complete units while retaining some complex structures.
