Student answer (Band 6.0)
The issue of working only for family set-up has become highly contentious. Many people prefer to work under their family businesses. This essay will discuss both benefits and limitations of a such trend.
To begin with, working for inherited businesses could be secured for people. This is because starting own set-up may have its own risks, such as taking responsibility of all loses, and finding suitable fundings for business development. Therefore, contributing to family businesses could reduce all such risks. In addition, family based set-up could help strengthen emotional bonds with one another. Families spend considerable time togather, and support each other financially. For example, a person who runs family business can get financial support from family members under severe financial crises. Thus, such businesses can help individuals to overcome from difficult phase of their lives. However, every advantage also has certain disadvantages.
On the other hand, businesses which run by same family members can create financial challanges for the family members. This is due to the fact that any kind of business can collapse because of severe financial losses. Consequently, all family members will suffer. Furthermore, such businesses could negatively affect the young generations career. This could become obligated for them to join family set-up despite of their personal preferences. For instance, if a person wants to become a doctor, but family pressure makes them to join their business.
In summary, joining family business is very common in many countries. Although it can benefit to maintain meningful relationships, such businesses could affect individuals personal and professional development. In my view, young people should choose their career on the basis of personal interests rather than family pressure.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear final view: young people should choose careers according to their interests rather than family pressure. The points about reduced start-up risk, family support, shared financial losses, and pressure on younger relatives are relevant. However, the response does not consistently answer the central comparison of whether advantages outweigh disadvantages. The conclusion mentions benefits and drawbacks but does not clearly state which side is stronger. Some ideas also need fuller explanation: for example, the claim that family businesses strengthen emotional bonds is supported mainly by financial help, and the career-pressure example is not developed beyond the scenario. State your overall judgement directly and explain why the advantages or disadvantages carry greater weight.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In summary” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples are placed alongside the relevant points. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. At times, however, linking is mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always precise. “However, every advantage also has certain disadvantages” acts mainly as a transition rather than developing the argument. Use more varied links that show cause, contrast, or consequence, and make references such as “such businesses” unmistakably clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “financial losses,” “financial support,” “personal preferences,” and “professional development.” These choices allow you to discuss both the economic and personal effects of family businesses. However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling problems reduce precision: “a such trend,” “suitable fundings,” “financial challanges,” and “meaningful relationships” (misspelled in the response) are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “overcome from difficult phase” and “career on the basis of personal interests.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate wording, and check spelling and word forms carefully. This would make your ideas clearer and demonstrate more controlled use of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “This is because” and “Consequently,” and a conditional example beginning “if a person wants to become a doctor.” The main meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “starting own set-up” (missing determiner), “businesses which run by same family members” (incorrect passive construction), and “This could become obligated for them” (faulty sentence structure). There are also problems with articles, prepositions, and possessives, as in “despite of their personal preferences” and “individuals personal and professional development.” Review sentence patterns and check each clause for a clear subject and correctly formed verb. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
