Student answer (Band 5.5)

In several nations, people from same family, working along to run their family business smooth. No doubt, there are several merits to work in a family enterprise rather than working anywhere else. I totally agree with this, for which i will be justifying my reasons in following paragraphs.

Firstly, Blood relation have more loyality towards each other, which will surely help in developing business together. Family is prior, trustworthy and cooperative in ones's life moreover a person can rely on family for responsiblity towards work. Not only including them in business will help to grow together but also they would not have any stress to look after them. Thus, being from same family creates less chances of fraud or unresponsible towards work.

Secondly, another significant advantage of family work is that time management and flexibility. Being from same family is merit as members can divide their time and work. For example, a members, especially ladies have to deal with house chores, for that they can divide time or duties which can be done to take care of family. As a result of that, no work would be effected, hence this time managing cannot be done if one work for other company.

To conclude, I would say no doubt working for other company could give you penalty of money, but working under same platform with family will make family bonds more stronger, along with that it will be way more productive for their well being and future as well. However, working together to grow your family owned business will give more freedom and power.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that family businesses have more advantages, and you give two relevant reasons—trust between relatives and greater flexibility in sharing work. The example about family members dividing duties around household responsibilities helps illustrate the second point. However, the discussion is not fully developed: the claim that family members are less likely to commit fraud is asserted rather than explained, and the example is general rather than specific. The conclusion briefly acknowledges the possible financial benefit of working for another company, but it does not explain this contrast or weigh disadvantages of family businesses. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or concrete example, and address the comparison more directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding paragraph. The main ideas are generally easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “For example” and “As a result” help show relationships. At times, however, cohesion feels mechanical, and some connections are unclear. For instance, “Not only including them in business will help to grow together but also they would not have any stress to look after them” is difficult to connect logically to the preceding point. The conclusion also introduces the idea of earning more money elsewhere without developing it. Use clearer references and make each sentence build directly on the paragraph’s main reason.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “family enterprise,” “trustworthy,” “flexibility,” “divide their time and work,” and “family bonds.” These choices communicate the topic and show attempts to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, several inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling errors reduce precision: “loyality,” “penalty of money,” “work would be effected,” and “unresponsible” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly the repeated references to being from the same family. Aim for more precise business-related expressions and check spelling and collocations. For example, “financial reward” is more suitable than “penalty of money,” while “affected” or “disrupted” fits the intended meaning better than “effected.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “Not only … but also …” and clauses introduced by “which” and “as a result.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation make parts less clear. Examples include “people from same family, working along,” which is an incomplete construction, and “a members … have to deal,” where the article and plural noun do not agree. “Blood relation have” also has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “ones's life” shows incorrect possessive formation. Review sentence completeness, singular and plural agreement, and apostrophe use. Building accurate complex sentences before adding more structures will improve clarity and control.
