Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the present era, where there is a large competition family businesses have became the only option to continue career for most of the people. Most people work in family businesses so that they do not feel left out in this competitive world. While some people like to be a part of family business, but I would prefer to get into newer opportunities. This essay will argue about disadvantages of family business.
Primary reason to not be a part of family business is, a person cannot learn to value money until they have worked hard themselves. If a person is raised in a rich family, he will be habituated to the luxury life and may not value money. These kind of people in future are only harm to the family businesses because they will know how to spend money but not honestly know how to make money.
Another reason for not joining family business is that you are not open to other opportunities that a person is most interested in. However, if the person is not getting what they want from their life, they will not be psychologically satisfied. Which further may lead to low-key depression or feel despair later in their life. Most people join family businesses in order to avoid confusion to build their identity but have regrets later in life.
Thus, I firmly believe that working in family businesses have more disadvantages over advantages because a person cannot learn to value money and most importantly if he/she is not interested in the particular role may feel despair later in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against family businesses. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding the 'value of money' is a generalization that lacks specific examples or depth. The second point regarding 'psychological satisfaction' is relevant but remains underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should provide concrete examples—such as a hypothetical scenario or a real-world observation—to support your claims. The introduction is slightly repetitive, and the essay would benefit from a more balanced exploration of the topic before concluding, as the prompt asks you to weigh advantages against disadvantages.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Primary reason', 'Another reason', and 'Thus' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition in the first paragraph ('While some people like to be a part of family business, but I would prefer...') is grammatically awkward and uses redundant conjunctions. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the logical progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on somewhat simple phrasing, such as 'luxury life' instead of 'affluent lifestyle' or 'get into newer opportunities' instead of 'pursue alternative career paths'. There are also some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'only harm to the family businesses' and 'low-key depression', which sound informal or imprecise. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to express your ideas with greater nuance and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'family businesses have became' (should be 'have become'), 'These kind of people' (should be 'These kinds of people'), and 'working in family businesses have' (should be 'has'). Additionally, there are issues with punctuation and sentence fragments, such as 'Which further may lead to low-key depression...'. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are punctuated correctly to avoid fragments.
