Student answer (Band 6.0)

No doubt, it is quite popular to have a family business in many countries as this type of business can be drawbacks for the families becasue of creating conflicts and disagreements on decisions. However, there are more benefits than the drawbacks as these business are more supposed to be trustworthy, provides good management and better quality towards their business. Moreover, long term stability and committment can be seen in family business.

First of all, major advantange is about trust and incrdible managing process has contributed to have better quality of productivity. Because, in family business, each member knows each other so they have a clear communication about their duties and and also they work as team by deviding their tasks each other so it maintains a good quality and having a transparent communication never hides important monetory outcomes related to any financial or profits.

In addition to this, high proficiency and high productivity can make them to stable their busniess for long time and combined them to be committed forever by having good coordination each other and unconditional efforts of each member.

on the other hand, there are some disadvantage to appeard due to have a some degree of risks such as conflicts and unprofessional decisions. in family, sometimes relatives have a conflicts on work then it directly goes to home then it becomes bigger one and make differences with each other and also due to work conflict, house environment can be spoiled. Despite this, sometime, unprocessional decsion takes like due to giving respect to elder, well qualified and skilled are left behind so it shows unfairness in business.

overall, having a conflicts issues and leading a unprofessional decisions can be big drawbacks of family business but I believe that there are more benfits of family business as it has more creditibily which business must have such as trust, transparent communication and better quality and management.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of family businesses, taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. The ideas are relevant and supported with explanations regarding trust, transparent communication, and potential conflicts. However, some arguments—such as the discussion on management and productivity—are slightly repetitive and under-developed, lacking concrete real-world examples. While the overall stance is clearly maintained throughout the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, the depth of extension places this response comfortably at Band 6.0. The writer successfully covers the main requirements of the prompt and offers a coherent perspective, but would benefit from further elaboration and specific examples to reach higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introductory stance, body paragraphs separated into advantages and disadvantages, and a concluding summary. Cohesive devices such as "First of all," "In addition to this," and "on the other hand" are employed to structure the text. However, referencing is occasionally unclear or clumsy, such as in sentences like "because, in family business, each member knows each other so they have a clear communication about their duties and and also they work as team by deviding their tasks each other." Paragraphing is used, but some sentences run on with excessive conjunctions rather than clean boundary punctuation. Cohesion is at times mechanical and repetitive, matching the requirements of Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as "proficiency," "transparent," "stability," and "unconditional." However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice inaccuracies throughout the text, including "becasue," "drawbacks" used where benefits might be contrasted, "incrdible managing process," "monetory," "credibily," and "unprocessional decsion." Despite these frequent errors in spelling and collocation, the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey meaning without severely impeding communication, which aligns with the Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors. A score of 6.0 is awarded as communication remains intact despite the surface-level lexical flaws.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional-like structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and prepositional usage. Examples include "these business are more supposed to be," "each member knows each other so they have a clear communication," "make them to stable their busniess," and "there are some disadvantage to appeard." Run-on sentences and awkward phrasing disrupt the flow of reading. While the basic meaning is usually recoverable, the high density of structural errors prevents the response from achieving a Band 6.0, making Band 5.0 a more accurate reflection of grammatical control.
