Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the 21st century, In many countries, family members work together in their family business.I think family businesses advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Will discuss this in upcoming paragraphs.

To comennce with merits, especially in india many family believes that thier younger genration run their family business after them. For exmaple many families operating their old parents business and their child to countinue the lagacy. Firstly running thier own family business helps the younger genration to learn under their parents and dont have any kind of pressure under their family. Secondly they learn from mistakes which is not possible if the do the job under any other person.Thirdly under the gudience of their family they learn how to handle the business operations and how to make profit and how to manage the manpower. it is much beneficail to run family business and they make their self much strong to face all the situaction under all circumstances.

However there is demerits also, running the family business is so challenging, because youngers have much pressure to keep maintain the lagacy of family business. For instance if someone fails to run the family business this situation might be put them in stress. moreover few childerns dont want to countinue their family business , they have their own ideas in their personal life. Forcefully push to family business mighg be seen harmful results. especially now day you can not force the youngsters to handle the family business, because they want to build their carrier according to their choice. althogh running family business have more advantages as compare to disadvantages.

In conclusion i would say running family bussiness is more impactful because now day their are many challenges to settle in present days so younger to focus on their family business for stablised the life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The student addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of family businesses, presenting a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Ideas are extended with some supporting points, such as learning from mistakes, gaining guidance from parents, and facing pressures related to maintaining family legacy. However, the development remains somewhat generalised and lacks specific, well-elaborated real-world examples. The introduction is also overly brief and conversational ('Will discuss this in upcoming paragraphs'). Nevertheless, all parts of the task are addressed, which places this performance solidly at Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing merits and demerits, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are attempted ('To comennce with merits', 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'However', 'In conclusion'), but their usage is frequently mechanical, faulty, or accompanied by punctuation errors. Paragraphing is present, but the internal logical progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed due to run-on sentences and a lack of smooth transitions. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly regarding pronoun usage ('this situation might be put them in stress'). These features reflect the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, touching on relevant themes such as 'business operations', 'manpower', 'legacy', and 'career choice'. However, there is a limited range with noticeable spelling errors ('comennce', 'india', 'thier', 'genration', 'lagacy', 'Exmaple', 'countinue', 'gudience', 'beneficail', 'situaction', 'demerits', 'althogh', 'bussiness', 'stablised'). The student attempts less common vocabulary but makes frequent lexical and spelling errors that occasionally impede readability. This aligns well with the criteria for Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak throughout. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure (e.g., 'if the do the job', 'it is much beneficail to run family business and they make their self much strong', 'Forcefully push to family business mighg be seen harmful results'). Punctuation is often neglected, leading to run-on sentences and comma splices. While the meaning can generally be deciphered, the high density of grammatical errors places this response at Band 4.5.
