In many countries, family members work together in their family business.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
People work together to run a family business in many countries. This has advantages as well as disadvantages. Lets discuss them in detail.
First of all advantages of working as a family unit are many. They will have a sincere force of workers available. No one from the family would like to harm their source of income. Everyone will work hard at their individual level to increase the profit and minimise the loss. All the members of the family will have a platform to work. They do not have to search in job market for suitable jobs. Not everyone in the family has the same level of caliber to deal with work related issues, so thier burden is shared among the other menbers. Helping hands are available at any time.
The disadvantages of the family business are also vast. If someone from the family has diiferent kind of interest, he is not allowed easily to leave the business. In worse case scenerios if downfall of work starts whole family has to suffer. Varaible resources are not available to support eachother in hard times. Conflicts among the families also occur on the base of share of profit given to each member, and some times on authority to make different decisions. Diversity of proffesions available among the family is also limited in such families which is not useful in a long run.
So in my opinion it has more disadvantages than advantages. Everyone in the family should be given the choice to follow their passion and persue their dreams.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of family businesses and presents a clear position that there are more disadvantages than advantages. Ideas are relevant, noting sincere workers and shared burdens as benefits, and restricted career choices and family conflicts as drawbacks. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed and would benefit from deeper extension or concrete examples. For instance, the point about variable resources or diverse professions could be explained with a specific scenario to fully meet higher band descriptors. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, earning a band score of 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate advantages from disadvantages. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Transitions between sentences can be abrupt, such as moving from 'Not everyone in the family has the same level of caliber' directly to 'thier burden is shared'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, and cohesive devices are limited. Despite these flaws, the logical progression is generally maintained throughout the text, warranting a band score of 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'sincere force of workers', 'minimise the loss', and 'follow their passion'. There are, however, several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'Lets', 'thier', 'diiferent', 'scenerios', 'Varaible', and 'proffesions'. While these errors do not impede communication, they reflect limited precision and control over less common vocabulary items, placing the lexical resource clearly within the band 5.5 to 6.0 range. A score of 6.0 is awarded as the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The text contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures ('If someone from the family has diiferent kind of interest...') and relative clauses. There are noticeable grammatical and punctuation errors throughout, including missing articles (e.g., 'in job market', 'on base of share'), subject-verb agreement issues, and spelling mistakes that affect the fluency of reading. Nevertheless, the grammatical errors rarely impede overall communication. The structures used are sufficient to express the writer's ideas, leading to a band score of 6.0 under the official descriptors.
