Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today's era, people like to join their family business rather than being in a office job. Self-employment comes with there own perks such as less stess. In the upcoming paragraphs, I will discuss the advantage of being own boss.
Firstly, one of the biggest perk of being own boss is no boundation. If a person is working in a office, they have to follow a procedure such as dress code, strict timings and over time; while being own boss they don't have follow these protocols. Additionally, some organization sets unreal targets for their employee; which are hard to achieve. If an employee achieve that target all credit will go to upper management. In contract, an enterpreneur set its own target and they burn his mid night oil to acheve it and he will keep the credit of its hardwork.
Furthermore, keeping all the profit is an another advantage of self employment. If an individual is working for an industry, they employed on monthly salary. All the hardwork is done by the workers, while large portion of the profit is taken by the managers and owners.
On other hand, an enterprenuner he works hard for its oraganization and keeps all the profits.
Despite the advantage of own business, sometime business owners have to face some challanges. For instance, they might have to shut down their business due to lack of resources, lack of finance and lack of publicity.
In conclusion, there might be sum disadvantage of being self employed, but there pros such as no boundation, less stress and big profit has upper hand over disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially, as the prompt specifically asks about working in a family business, whereas the student largely discusses general self-employment and being your own boss. While there is some overlap, the core theme of family dynamics, working alongside relatives, and family-specific business advantages or disadvantages is largely missed. The position is expressed, but the ideas are limited and under-developed, relying on sweeping generalisations such as claiming self-employment always brings 'less stess' and 'big profit'. To move up, the writer must ensure they directly address every specific element of the prompt rather than drifting into a related but distinct topic, and provide more extended, well-supported arguments instead of brief, repetitive assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation present, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the overall progression lacks clarity and logical flow. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, as seen in the excessive use of transition phrases like 'Firstly', 'Additionally', 'In contract', and 'Furthermore' which feel mechanical rather than naturally integrated. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs contain confusing shifts in perspective or abrupt summaries of previous points. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun shifts between singular and plural forms when referring to entrepreneurs and employees. To improve, the writer needs to ensure smoother transitions between ideas and use a wider, more accurate variety of cohesive ties to guide the reader seamlessly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, containing noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are frequent spelling errors such as 'stess', 'enterpreneur', 'acheve', 'oraganization', 'challanges', and 'sum', alongside word-choice and collocation issues like 'no boundation' and 'burn his mid night oil'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, but these attempts are marred by inaccurate forms and non-standard phrasing. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire, pay closer attention to correct word forms and spelling, and use precise collocations appropriate for an academic or formal context instead of relying on informal or incorrectly modified expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside frequent attempts at complex structures that are often faulty. There are persistent errors in grammar throughout the text, including pronoun-antecedent agreement issues ('an enterpreneur set its own target and they burn his mid night oil'), missing articles ('in a office', 'working for an industry'), incorrect prepositions ('in contract' instead of 'in contrast'), and awkward verb forms. These frequent errors require the reader to decode the meaning and can cause difficulty. To progress, the writer should focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring accurate subject-verb and pronoun agreement, and correctly employing articles and prepositions within grammatical patterns.
