Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays in many country ,family members work together in their family business ,From my perspective it has advantage and disadvantage both .This essay discussboth the side .

A key benefit is that when family members work together then they all are familiar with each other therefore they do their work very comfertably. Apart from this they all aware about strength and weakness of each member thus we can give responsibility acoordingly. So it is likely result into positive outcome .Another positive aspect is in family business when all employee are family member then whole profite come in their own house thus they expand their business in boarden horizon.Furthermore when one family member is not able to do their work then other person could handle this nicely .In family business when all are family member then all are trustworthy people so we have no worry about it When when we hire employer from outside then they work very professionaly rather family member work with more dedication.

On the other hand it has some disadvantage as well like, when some misunderstanding occour in family business then it create serious issues in family Thus family relation is spoiled et that lavel thet sometime they will go for some legal steps and ultimetly ruined whole family relationsh

It is clear that although some people belive that family members work together in their family business has advantage but in my opinion there is some negetive aspect as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the prompt regarding whether family businesses have more advantages than disadvantages, but it does so only partially. A position is presented in the introduction, but the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed, with repetitive points about trust and convenience rather than fully extended arguments. Furthermore, the response falls short of the minimum length requirement of 250 words, containing only 241 words. To reach a higher band, the writer would need to expand upon their main ideas with more detailed explanations, specific examples, and ensure the word count requirement is fully met.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic logical structure and the essay is divided into paragraphs, showing some overall organisation. However, the progression of ideas is limited, and cohesive devices are often repetitive or inaccurate, such as relying heavily on basic linkers like 'Another positive aspect' and 'On the other hand'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, for instance when shifting between pronouns like 'they', 'we', and 'family member'. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately and ensure a smoother, more logical flow of ideas throughout the essay.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation, such as 'comfertably', 'boarden', 'profite', and 'negetive'. There are also frequent spelling slips like 'occour' and 'tavel'. While the writer attempts some business-related terms like 'responsibility' and 'professionaly', these are often marred by inaccuracies that can cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to use a broader range of vocabulary and demonstrate greater control over spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences joined by basic conjunctions. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to frequent errors in punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and missing articles, such as in 'family members work together in their family business ,From my perspective' and 'when some misunderstanding occour... it create serious issues'. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer should incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures while improving grammatical accuracy and punctuation control.
