Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this cutting egde of era, businesses are increasing repidly and it plays a vital role in country's economy and it's growth. A number of people believe that family business shoulde be run by the family members and they must have to work together in their business. According to me, there is a more advantages outweigh the disadvantages of this approach. This essay will discuss both the merits and demerits with relevant example.

Nowadays, people are choosing to do busniess than the job because of independance. Additionally, When all family members work together in the family business then it takes another higher level mode and it has plenty of advantages. The first and foremost merit is the trust and bonding. For example, if all members like mother , father, son, and daughter run the business togther at that time there is no space for any kinds of doughts and treachery. Subsequently, they all do the time and work management. In addition, they can apply new ideas with new technology and new thoughts. For instace, When new generation take over that father business at that time he can add new equipments with new strategy which can increase the profit and sell of that perticular business.

on the other hand, there are some demerits when family works together. Firstly, they stuck at only one place and they cannot do more another things. For example, if anybody of members want to open new startups or something they can't. Also they cannot go together to the outside or some occasion like marriege, festivals. Secondly, sometime they all have different mindset which can make lot of confusions in their business. For example, father do not want to waste his money on marketing when son wants to do more spend on marketing and at last it affects on thier relation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the merits and demerits of family businesses and provides a clear personal position stating that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, while the point about trust and bonding is expanded with a specific breakdown of family roles, the argument regarding time and work management remains somewhat underdeveloped and vague. The ideas are relevant to the prompt, but further extension and support would be required to reach a higher level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs, and an incomplete conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. Transition phrases such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In addition' are used, but referencing and logical progression are occasionally unclear, particularly in the transition between sentences in the second body paragraph. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending of the conclusion shows a lack of control over overall text organization.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'treachery', 'strategy', and 'equipments'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'cutting egde', 'repidly', 'shoulde', 'busniess', 'independance', 'doughts', 'instace', 'perticular', 'marriege', and 'thier'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they reflect a lack of precision and lower the lexical quality of the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response exhibits a limited range of structures, featuring a mix of simple sentences and flawed attempts at complex forms. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing articles ('take over that father business'), incorrect verb forms ('father do not want'), subject-verb agreement issues ('there is a more advantages'), and faulty prepositional patterns. Although the meaning is usually retrievable, these frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and demonstrate restricted control over sentence architecture.
