Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are many countries in the world in which kinsfolk are working together in their family enterpise. I firmly believe that advantages are more than disadvantes while working in a family business .
Firstly , It is very crucial for family mambers to participate in their own family business instaed of starting another from scratch with their friends.Furthermore , family business provides a strong oppotunity to grow faster. For example , a person who choosed to initiate his new business set up while having his own family business , will take more time to grow. Also, any business in the world will take long time to make deep roots in the socity as well as to become popular.
Secondly , people having family business would be successful earlier than the folks who just started because the old business had strong bonds with the society already and ultimately it spreads. For instance , Sharif family in Pakistan had a business from decades . They had sugar mills in Pakistan. All the family members of Sharif group are working together in their business to grow it and now they are dominating the business society in Pakistan. It is a successful business in Pakistan now .
In conclusion , It is a big advantage for people having family business and it would lead to success faster than starting a new set up. I would like to mention the example of my own family business. We are three family members. We had a business of clothes that was started by my grandfather. We have invested in clothing market and earned a lot from this business. We worked together to built it and each individual played his specific role to make it successful.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you believe the advantages of family businesses outweigh the disadvantages, and you maintain this view in the conclusion. You support the argument with relevant points about an established business having community connections and allowing a family to build on existing foundations. The Sharif family example and your own clothing business make the response specific, and the personal example adds useful support. This fully addresses the question, but the discussion is weighted toward advantages and does not explain any disadvantages or why they are outweighed. Some claims, such as that family businesses lead to success faster, also need more explanation or qualification. Developing both sides and linking examples more explicitly to the comparison would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from the benefits of an existing business to examples of family success, so the reader can follow the main argument. However, the links between some points are not fully clear. For example, the sentence about starting a new business “while having his own family business” does not clearly illustrate the comparison you intend. Connectors such as “Furthermore,” “Also,” and “Ultimately” sometimes join ideas without showing their precise relationship, and the conclusion introduces the personal example rather than simply drawing together the discussion. Use clearer topic sentences and more explicit links between each reason and its example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “family business,” “strong bonds with the society,” “sugar mills,” and “invested in clothing market.” There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “from scratch” and “deep roots,” showing some range. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “enterpise,” “disadvantes,” “mambers,” and “opportunity” misspelled as “oppotunity.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “business society” and “make deep roots in the society” do not express the intended ideas idiomatically. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning more precise and help you use your existing range more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a person who choosed to initiate…” and a conditional structure beginning “while having…”. Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “a person who choosed” has an incorrect verb form, and “All the family members … are working” shifts awkwardly from the past description to the present. There are also issues with articles and number, as in “a strong opportunity” and “three family members” followed by “each individual played his specific role.” Punctuation spacing and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly around commas and sentence openings. Review verb forms, tense consistency, and article use, while aiming for complex sentences that remain controlled.
