Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent times, family businesses are considered to be the crucial factor for gaining financial success. However, in various countries blood relatives and siblings are contributing to their family business because of easy communication and trust. I strongly agree with this statement because it has more pros than cons which are necessary for expanding a business.

Firstly, trust is the most essential element in a human being which is required in every business. However, family ventures are mainly run by its own members because they are easy to trust. For example, Ambani family ,one of the most richest family in India, only consider their own children for Director and CEO posts. As a result, it creates a sense of security. Secondly, Due to relations, individuals feel comfortable to share their creative ideas and theories which makes communcation easy. so, it increases employee's morale and confidence

Thirdly, it supports reputation by maintaing quantity and quality. Raises productivand produc.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear in the opening: you strongly agree that family businesses have more advantages, and you give relevant reasons such as trust and easier communication. However, the response addresses the topic only partially because the advantages are listed rather than explained in depth, and the disadvantages are not considered. The example of the Ambani family supports your point about trust, but its relevance would be clearer if you explained how family involvement improves the business. The final point about reputation and product quality is unfinished, so it does not develop into a complete supporting idea. The response is also 94 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to explain and support your argument. Develop both sides briefly and complete each reason with an explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: an introductory paragraph states your view, and the body begins with signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Thirdly.” These help readers identify separate reasons. However, the overall progression is incomplete because the final paragraph stops mid-idea, and there is no conclusion to restate your position. Some linking is mechanical or confusing: “However” introduces points that do not clearly contrast with the preceding sentence, while “so” begins a sentence without appropriate capitalisation. The relationship between the claims about trust, security, communication, and morale could also be made more explicit. Use a clear paragraph for each developed reason, connect cause and effect directly, and finish with a concise conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “family ventures,” “financial success,” “creative ideas,” and “employee morale,” which shows an attempt to discuss business concepts. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “one of the most richest family” is an incorrect expression, and “maintaining quantity and quality” does not clearly convey the intended point about consistent standards. “Productivand produc” appears to be an unfinished or mistyped phrase, which interrupts communication. Check spelling and word forms carefully, and choose precise collocations for business contexts. Replacing general claims with specific terms such as “productivity,” “consistent quality,” or “business reputation” would make your ideas clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because they are easy to trust” and a relative clause in “which makes communication easy.” However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. In “family ventures are mainly run by its own members,” the pronoun does not agree with the plural subject; “their” is needed. The sentence beginning “For example” also has an unclear construction around “only consider their own children for Director and CEO posts.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention: there is no space after “success.”, and “so” starts a new sentence with a lowercase letter. Practise accurate agreement, complete sentence structures, and punctuation while extending your ideas.
