In many countries, family members work together in their family business.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is common in most countries to work together and run a family owned business. While this arrangements has some drawbacks, I believe its advantages, such as trust and shared commitment far outweigh the disadvantages.
The main advantage is that family members trust each other. Any imperative decisions related to business are taken with a consent from all the family members. This would help to keep a transparency in business. Not only this, but loyalty in the business would lead to increase in productivity. For example, a recent survey conducted in a India shows that most small business are run by family their own because many complaints of stealing has been reported. Furthermore, kins would also be ready to work long hours. The family members face all the daunting situation together without demanding extra pay. They make sure that their business remain stable, whereas a regular employee might simply quit if business face loss. Consequently, it helps to work flexibly and also save money which may be paid to hired worker.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages to working with family. The most significant problem is that personal conflicts in family may damage the business. Disagreement in familiy would also impact the workplace by taking poor decison. The opinions of members would clash due to issues between them. This would impact the growth of their For example, a lazy family member working in a family owned business could not be fired. As a result, the business will not progress and might face huge loss.
To conclude, although family businesses can suffer from personal conflicts and a lack of professionalism, the benefits of trust, loyalty and dedication are much more significant. Therefore, I think family businesses have more advantages than disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you believe trust, loyalty and dedication make family businesses more advantageous overall. You address both sides and support the benefits with points about productivity, long hours and saving on wages, then identify personal conflict and difficulty dismissing an underperforming relative as drawbacks. This covers the task well. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others: the survey example is vague and its link to trust is not clearly explained, while the point about disagreements affecting business growth is left unfinished. To strengthen the response, explain how each example demonstrates your claim and develop the consequences of the disadvantages more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression from trust to loyalty and flexibility is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. Some linking is mechanical, however, and a few references or transitions are unclear. For instance, “This would impact the growth of their” is incomplete, leaving the reader unsure what is meant, and “Not only this” does not connect smoothly to the preceding point. Use cohesive devices more selectively and ensure each paragraph develops a complete sequence of ideas with clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “shared commitment,” “productivity,” “loyalty,” “daunting situation” and “professionalism.” These choices help communicate the main argument, and the meaning is usually recoverable. However, several inaccurate or unnatural expressions limit precision: “imperative decisions,” “with a consent,” “a transparency,” and “family their own” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also spelling errors such as “familiy” and “decison,” and some repetition of “business” and “impact.” Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; choosing familiar, precise wording is more effective than using an ambitious word in an unsuitable context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a concessive opening (“While this arrangements has some drawbacks”) and a conditional example (“if business face loss”). The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction remain. For example, “this arrangements has” should have matching number, “most small business are” needs plural agreement, and “their business remain stable” also has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “This would impact the growth of their” is incomplete, and “a lazy family member … could not be fired” would benefit from clearer grammatical framing. Review agreement and article use, and proofread each sentence for completeness while continuing to practise complex structures.
