Student answer (Band 5.5)

Numerous nations have family businesses, in which all members tend to work together for their own firm. This situation have several benefits such as - no need to hire unknown employees as well as lower the cost to company. So that the advantages of this particular outweigh the disadvantages.

to start with, the core benefit is no efforts for srearching for employees from outside, as the one of the family member has the ability to give service at their own firm. In such scenario, the profound hard task which is to find the perfect skills amongs people has become easier, as the one of the member is master in that skill. In survey, it was stated that," To search a person who has skills which are required for the roll is hard for employer, so when the person can be find among family is one such benefit." Hence, this process is become easier or the human resources.

Furthermore, another advantage is that it lowers the cost to company. In hiring process, a firm has to incure so much for an interview. Not only in the hiring process but also on employees to stay stick to the same firm as long as they can. However, the blood ties give the assuarance to give services regardless of quiting. A comapny provide home appliance, general allowance, bonus, gifts, holiday trips etc. to satisfy the employees, however the relatives do not demand these all formalities. Hence, the company get the assurance to not to quite while lowering the expenditure on them, when a blood relative has entitled as employee.

In conclusion, the firm got the required skills without searching process as well as the reassurance and lesser cost to company, when the member of family provide service at their own firm.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the advantages of family businesses outweigh the disadvantages, and you give two relevant reasons—easier access to suitable workers and lower staffing costs. The body paragraphs explain these points, and the example of relatives not requiring the same benefits as other employees supports your cost argument. However, the discussion is one-sided: the task asks whether advantages are greater, so briefly acknowledging a drawback, such as family disagreements affecting business decisions, would make the comparison more complete. Some support is also unclear or insufficiently developed, particularly the claim that a family member will already have the required skills. Explain how this is likely and add a specific example to strengthen your reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate advantages, and a conclusion restates the main points. Connectors such as “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal this progression. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated use of “Hence” and repeated references to “the company” and “the firm.” Some links between ideas are also unclear; for example, the discussion moves from hiring costs to employee benefits and then to relatives’ willingness to stay without clearly explaining each step. Use more precise referencing and vary the transitions, while making the relationship between each claim and its supporting explanation explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “hiring process,” “human resources,” “blood ties,” and “expenditure,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, a number of inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Examples include “the perfect skills,” “stay stick,” “incure,” and “quite” where you mean “quit.” “The roll” is also an incorrect form for “role.” Some phrases, such as “the cost to company,” are not natural in this context. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations before choosing more elaborate wording, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “as” and “when,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms, and articles occur often enough to affect clarity. For example, “This situation have” should use a singular verb, while “the company get” needs subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “So that the advantages…” is a fragment, and “when the member of family provide service” has problems with articles and agreement. Some long sentences also combine several ideas without clear grammatical control. Practise building accurate complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each verb against its subject.
