Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this fast growing world everyone prefer to do family business insted of working under someone.I do believe that it is an advantage that family members work all together for their business growth. I will be discussing both the views.

On the one hand, I believe that it's an advantage that all the family member work together for the betterment of their life. And now a days working under someone can feel frustrated or the sometimes it's an dissappointment too. Similarly, if we have our own business we dont have to depend on someone. For example - We have a family our own business of carpet, and we all family members together decide what is good for the business and we dont trust the outsiders for handling the finance of the business, our family members take care of it.

On the other hand, it is said that its an disadvantages that if we work in the famiy business together. Some family they dont have a good bond. So, if they enter into the family business there might be a conflict between the families. For instance - In family if they have good bond they will think in the positive growth of the business, if not , then there will some troubles in the business. Sometimes this may cause huge lose to the business.

In conclusion, I always belive that it is an advantage in my countries that all family members work together for the growth business. Netherless, it has an disadvantages too.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that family businesses are advantageous, while also acknowledging possible conflict between relatives. The carpet-business example is relevant and helps explain your point about family members making decisions and managing finances. However, the discussion of disadvantages is brief and conditional: “if they have a good bond” versus “if not” is not developed into a specific explanation of how disagreements affect the business. The opening says you will discuss “both the views,” but the response does not fully weigh the two sides or explain why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Develop each main idea with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and finish with a more decisive comparison of the two sides.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the stages easy to follow. The main ideas are generally grouped appropriately, and the example appears alongside the advantage it supports. However, some links are mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. For example, “And now a days working under someone…” shifts from the benefit of family cooperation to dissatisfaction with employment without explaining the connection. The contrast in the disadvantages paragraph also repeats the idea of family bonds rather than extending it. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make each paragraph build one point step by step.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “family business,” “conflict,” “finance,” and “business growth.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or repetitive expressions make the writing less natural. Phrases such as “for the betterment of their life,” “good bond,” and “huge lose” do not express the intended ideas precisely; “lose” is also a spelling error for “loss.” “Family members” and “business” recur frequently, with few alternatives or more specific terms. Aim to use accurate collocations and a wider range of language for cooperation, decision-making, and disagreements. For example, describe relatives as sharing responsibilities or resolving disputes, rather than relying on general phrases such as “good bond.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including conditional forms such as “if they enter into the family business there might be a conflict.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, sentence construction, and punctuation are frequent enough to affect fluency. Examples include “everyone prefer” instead of “everyone prefers,” “all the family member work” instead of “all the family members work,” and “there will some troubles,” which is missing a verb. The sentence beginning “And now a days…” is also awkwardly constructed, while “it is an advantage that…” is repeated in ways that limit variety. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, complete verb phrases, and article use, then build more accurate complex sentences around your examples.
