Student answer (Band 6.0)

In many nations, family business are widely common, and it is seen that the entire bloodline or the other members of the family get involved to grow there business at large scale. It has its own positive and negative sides.

In my opinion, running a family business has more advantages than disadvantages. Because, in family business the entire family runs after one goal that is to make the business successful. For example: In our city, there's a sweet shop called 'Tawakkal' which is handled by the Ansar family. They made it brand. While entering to the shop, we can observe the welcoming nature of the staff that is the Ansar's itself. They are profitable because they know how to manage their customers.

Now lets talk about the benifits of handling family business. The major benefit of having family business is having support of each others. Everything gets divide equally. Additionally, In case anyone gets sick then they have backup plans for the business. And also they has freedom of taking off from business as there are many other family members to take over the responsibilities.

However, there are few disadvantages. For example: if any family function come across then everyone has to go together which create minor impacts on the business, and by any chance if the business get failed then it demotivates the entire family.

So, I would like to conclude it by mentioning that family business are good in terms of support and management. However, it needs proper management and requires full time attention.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe family businesses have more advantages, and you address both benefits and drawbacks. The example of the Tawakkal sweet shop gives the argument a relevant, concrete illustration, while shared support, cover during illness, and time off are pertinent advantages. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, “Everything gets divide equally” is unclear: it could refer to work, profits, or responsibilities. The disadvantage about family functions is also brief, and the conclusion introduces “proper management” without explaining how it relates to your argument. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or example so that the response addresses the task more evenly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph stating your view and giving an example, a discussion of benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Additionally” and “However” help distinguish ideas. This shows effective basic organisation, with some flexibility in linking. At times, though, the connections feel mechanical or the references are unclear. “Now lets talk about the benefits” is a conversational transition, while “Everything gets divide equally” does not specify what is divided. The opening and the opinion paragraph also repeat the general idea of family involvement. Use more precise links between claims and explanations, and make references explicit to improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “profitable,” “customers,” “backup plans,” and “responsibilities.” The example also gives the response some topic-specific language. However, several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems limit precision: “widely common” is redundant, “grow there business at large scale” is awkward, and “benifits” is misspelled. Phrases such as “the entire bloodline” and “runs after one goal” are not natural in this context. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding your position, but they make parts of the response less fluent. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “In case anyone gets sick then they have backup plans” and a concluding sentence with “However.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “family business are” and “they has,” verb forms in “Everything gets divide” and “the business get failed,” and article or plural patterns in “having family business.” The sentence beginning “Because” is also a fragment, and punctuation around introductory phrases is inconsistent. Practise checking agreement, verb forms, and complete sentence structure; these corrections would make your ideas clearer while preserving the range you are attempting.
