Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent times, family businesses done by all family members collectively has become a trend worldwide. Although this trend has numerous of demerits, I consider benefits of this are far more than the drawbacks.

On the one hand, family busniesses have more advantages. Firstly, economic growth this means they can expand their business and reduce the expenditure in the form of salries. For example, in India Mukesh ambani's all family runs business together they are now wealthy family in country and they give money to country. Secondly, When family do business together they can become stronger family bond and they have opprounity to spend time together. People can enhance their career and realtions with family members.Thirdly, family business can trustworthy because they do turst easliy on their family members they will work more efficently. They can save their money which they have to spend on their employees specially on hire post.

On the other hand, this trend has certain disadvantages. Sometimes dispute can destory the business and family relation as well. As a result, people may loose both families and business. Moreover, Sometimes people mix their personal and profesional life beacuse they could not handle the situation or they have no enough time. Consequently, They can faced stress and anxity due to the misunderstanding and conflicts.

In conclusion, however, family members can face many challenges during their corporates such as, dispute and arguments, it is beneficial for fianacial status and strengthen the family relationships. Therefore, if family members runs their bnusiness by understanding and corporation they can make their businesses more succesful

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you believe the benefits of family businesses outweigh the drawbacks, and the essay addresses both sides of the question. Relevant advantages include reduced staffing costs, stronger family relationships and trust, while disputes and work–life pressures provide counterpoints. The Ambani example gives the discussion some support, although “they give money to country” is not explained clearly enough to show how it supports your argument. Some points, such as career development and saving money on employees, are asserted rather than developed with a specific explanation or example. To strengthen the response, explain the cause-and-effect behind each main point and make the example more precise. The response already has a clear stance and relevant ideas, but fuller development is needed for a more complete treatment.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the overall direction. The progression within the advantages paragraph is less controlled, however: economic growth, family bonds, trust and employee costs are introduced in quick succession without enough explanation of how each point connects to the next. Some linking is also mechanical, with repeated “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “Moreover.” Improve cohesion by grouping related ideas, using clearer references to earlier points, and adding explanatory links rather than relying mainly on sequence markers. The overall arrangement is clear, but connections between individual claims are not consistently smooth.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “economic growth,” “expenditure,” “dispute,” “professional life” and “misunderstanding.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main argument, and some choices show an attempt to use more formal or topic-specific wording. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “busniesses,” “salries,” “opprounity” and “turst.” Several phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “give money to country,” “hire post” and “family members runs their bnusiness.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, for example, how to describe employment costs, family relationships and business success naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a concession in the introduction (“Although this trend has…”) and a conditional structure in the conclusion (“if family members…”). These attempts show some range, but control is inconsistent. Subject–verb agreement is a recurring issue: “family members collectively has become” and “family members runs” need plural verbs. Other examples include “they can become stronger family bond,” which needs an article and a more complete grammatical structure, and “they can faced stress,” where the verb form is incorrect. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly after sentence openings such as “Secondly” and “Sometimes.” Practise accurate agreement and verb forms, and check each sentence for a complete, clearly structured clause.
