Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many parts of the world, there are many people in one family who are working together in the same family business. I believe that the positives are outweigh the negatives. In this essay I will provide the reasons for my opinion with an appropriate examples.
The main disadvantage for this development is it produce conflicts in the family bonds. In simple words, sometimes a professional misunderstanding affects a personal relationships which result in trust related issues and family seperations. People start ignoring their family member and treat them as a stranger. For example, in many families sibling brothers are stop talking with each other after misunderstanding in family business.
However, there are many advantages. Firstly, it provides a wide range of an opportunity to expand family business. In other words, all members have the same goal to expand business and make it more profitable. They all have different contact and it is easy for them to advertise their it. For instance, many well known company in India are started by a family members and become very popular.
Secondly, it is very convenient for them to manage availablity. As they have mutual understanding so it is easy for them to remain flexible for time and responsibilities. Moreover, if one person is unfit and not able to work than other family member can do that work without having any complain.
In conclusion, there is a one drawback which is weaken family bonds while working for the same family business but I think the positives like expanding family business and making it wellknown and greater flexibilities are outweigh it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and the conclusion returns to this view. You address both sides, identifying possible damage to family relationships and benefits such as shared business goals and flexible responsibilities. These are relevant points, and the examples about siblings and Indian companies help illustrate them. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the claim that family members’ different contacts help them advertise could be developed by showing how this expands the customer base. The disadvantage is also presented as a single broad outcome. To strengthen the response, explain the causes and consequences of each point more fully and make the comparison between the benefits and the drawback more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on the disadvantage, two paragraphs on advantages, and a conclusion. The progression from the drawback to the benefits is easy to follow, and signposts such as “However,” “Firstly,” and “Secondly” make the organisation clear. This gives the essay a coherent framework. At times, though, linking is mechanical, and some references are unclear. In “They all have different contact and it is easy for them to advertise their it,” the relationship between the contacts and the advertising point is not smoothly expressed. The conclusion also lists benefits without clearly weighing them against the drawback. Use a wider range of natural links and make connections between claims and examples more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “family bonds,” “professional misunderstanding,” “profitable,” and “flexible.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “trust related issues.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or awkward, which limits precision: “a wide range of an opportunity,” “manage availability,” and “different contact” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling and word-form errors such as “seperations,” “availablity,” and “wellknown” are noticeable. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling and forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make the argument clearer and more fluent without requiring unnecessarily complex words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional-style explanation beginning “if one person is unfit” and a relative clause in “which result in trust related issues.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “the positives are outweigh the negatives” has an incorrect verb form, while “it produce conflicts” and “sibling brothers are stop talking” show problems with agreement and verb structure. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent in “an appropriate examples” and “a family members.” Practise building accurate clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and singular/plural nouns. Greater control of these patterns would make your varied sentences more reliable.
