Student answer (Band 6.0)
In several countries, all family members work together and run family business. In my opinion, I believe that family businesses have more benefits than drawbacks. I will explain it in upcoming paragraphs with suitable examples and reasons.
To begin with, there are number of advantages of family busniesses. One of the primary benefit is that it gives more flxibility and independence. To explain more, individual who works with their family are more likely to get freedom than the person doing job. As in family busniess, if one person is absent due to any reason, other family member can handle the workloads easily because they all know each other works which in not possible in other jobs. As a result, it gives sense of security to the person. To cite an example, one who likes to go for vacation for month, they donot have to take permission.
Moreover, family businesses give more opportunities to expand one's horizons. One can learn whatever they want from their busniess without any paying extra cost. For instance, someone who are interested to learn digital markting, they can learn easily. In addition to that, family busniess also helps to enhance profit margins because they do not have to share the cost with other people. However, there are some disadvantages too. One is that if busniess is not getting enough profit then all the family members have to pay their loss which is sometimes depressing for all.
In conclusion, although getting loss together, family busniesses promots sense of security and flexibility for all members.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe family businesses have more benefits than drawbacks, and the conclusion returns to security and flexibility. You address both sides by discussing flexibility, learning opportunities and profit, then acknowledging the risk of shared losses. These are relevant points, but they are not developed equally. The example about taking a month’s vacation supports flexibility, although it would be stronger if you explained how family members arrange cover in practice. The learning and profit points are brief, and the disadvantage is only one sentence. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each point and add a specific example showing why the advantages outweigh the financial risk.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally have a central focus, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help the reader follow the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and the second body paragraph moves quickly from learning opportunities to profit and then to a disadvantage, so the relationship between these ideas is not fully developed. There are also unclear references, such as “it gives a sense of security,” where “it” could refer to the flexibility or the arrangement of family members covering one another. Use clearer references and organise the advantages and disadvantage more deliberately to make progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “flexibility,” “independence,” “expand one’s horizons,” “profit margins” and “sense of security.” These choices allow you to discuss several aspects of family businesses. However, spelling and word-choice errors recur, including “busniess,” “flxibility,” “donot” and “promots,” and some phrases are not natural or precise, such as “pay their loss” and “without any paying extra cost.” Repetition of “family business” and “more” also limits flexibility. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for business and financial topics; more precise phrasing will make your ideas sound clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and reason clauses: “if one person is absent… other family member can handle the workloads” and “because they all know each other works.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement and verb forms. For example, “there are number of advantages” needs an article, “One of the primary benefit” needs a plural noun, and “someone who are interested” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “As in family business” is also awkwardly constructed. Review agreement and article use, and revise complex sentences to ensure each clause has a clear, correctly formed subject and verb.
