Student answer (Band 5.5)
To run a succesful business is one of the complicated thing and family business is the tradition in many countries. This essay will examine pros and cons of the family business. In my opinion, this trend has more advanatges than the disadvantages.
To start, the foremost advanatge of having family in the business is the cost cutting in expense. As family alreday know the members requirements so that they spend accordingly and save money in some things including pay raise, bonus, promotion. For instance, if an employer hired outsiders than they have to pay all the things to that employee such as salary, overtime pay, bonus and promotion raise. However, family members only require to stay and work for their family business without pushing themselves into workplace politics. Secondly, family bonding plays an vital role in the business growth. For example, In USA (United states of America), most of the Gujarati motel owners are significantly growing in the motel market as they have support and trust from their own family. Hence, family in business is the ideal formula for the succesful business.
Furthermore, family is also considered as the backbond of the individuals lives. Accordingly, if the business is not performing well than they can frequently change the formation of the business and it skips the mental pressure from the invester's mind. Additionally, no one needs to get training into that business and family can invest profite directly into establishing better exprience for the customer. To examplify, normally an invester of any business model is the most stressful about the money, nevertheless, if He/she is from the family than there are less chances of failure in the business.
In conclusion, it has been cleared from the discussion that advantages are outweigh the disadvantges. Therefore, family business is the key to the succesful business as they have all the ingredients to boost the business including cost cutting, team bonding and less failure chance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe family businesses have more advantages, and the conclusion restates this view. You address the topic with relevant points about lower costs, family support and trust, and the ability to adapt the business. The motel-owner example also gives the discussion some concrete support. However, the disadvantages are not meaningfully examined, despite the promise to discuss “pros and cons,” and several claims need fuller explanation. For example, explain how family members’ pay arrangements actually reduce costs, and clarify why family involvement lowers the risk of failure. Developing these points and briefly weighing a genuine disadvantage against them would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas are generally grouped by topic, and signposts such as “To start,” “Secondly,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The second body paragraph moves from family support to changing the business’s “formation,” then to training and customer experience without showing how these points relate. “Accordingly” does not clearly express the relationship between the preceding and following ideas, and “Hence” introduces a conclusion that is stronger than the evidence provided. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the logical link between each claim and its explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “family bonding,” “workplace politics,” “investor” and “customer,” and the main meaning is usually understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “business,” “family” and “successful,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate: “cost cutting in expense,” “backbond of the individuals lives,” and “invest profite” are difficult to interpret naturally. Spelling errors such as “succesful,” “advanatge” and “disadvantges” are also noticeable. Aim for more precise business vocabulary and check spelling carefully; accurate phrases such as “reduce staffing costs” or “reinvest profits” would make your points clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “if” and “as,” and most of the argument remains understandable. However, some sentence structures and grammatical forms are inaccurate. For example, “one of the complicated thing” needs plural agreement, while “if an employer hired outsiders than they have to pay” has an inconsistent conditional structure. In “family members only require to stay and work,” the verb pattern is incorrect, and “family bonding plays an vital role” has an article error. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries in places. Review conditional forms, articles, subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for a complete, grammatically consistent structure.
