Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requirements: it describes the theatre and its facilities, invites Salman to open it, and explains why he is suitable. Details such as “10 regular screens, one Imax theatre and a gamezone” make the venue more concrete, while the reference to his wish to visit Toronto gives a relevant reason for the invitation. The explanation that his Canadian fans could see him also supports the choice, although the comments about his “morals, ethics and principals” are broad and would be more convincing with a specific example of his influence or achievements. The invitation and hospitality are clear, including accommodation and a city tour. To strengthen the response further, develop the reasons for selecting him with more precise, personal detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information is arranged in a sensible sequence: the purpose of the letter comes first, followed by details about the theatre, the invitation, and the reasons for choosing the actor. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and links such as “It will be our pleasure” and “We recently heard” guide the reader through the message. This gives the letter a coherent overall structure. However, some connections between ideas are awkward or run together, particularly “Your accommodation will be provided by the company also company is providing you a city tour” and “see you.We value.” Use clearer sentence boundaries and linking phrases, and make references between ideas more explicit. This would make the progression smoother and the cohesion less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the purpose and includes some useful event-related language, such as “opening event,” “chief guest,” “accommodation,” and “interior.” These choices help communicate the invitation and the theatre’s features. There are also several inaccurate word choices or spellings that reduce precision: “inogration” should be “inauguration,” “principals” should be “principles,” and “except our invitation” should be “accept our invitation.” “Radiant health” sounds overly formal and unnatural in this context, while “gamezone” and “Imax theatre” could be expressed more conventionally as “gaming zone” and “IMAX theatre.” Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make the message sound more polished without requiring unnecessarily elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple sentences and some more developed structures, including the relative clause in “the biggest theatre in the city, which is located at the centre of the city.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems are noticeable. For example, “invite you at the opening event” needs the pattern “invite you to,” and “for you and your fans in Canada get a chance” needs a grammatical link, such as “for you to visit and for your fans … to get a chance.” The sentence beginning “Your accommodation” joins two independent clauses without suitable punctuation or a conjunction. There are also missing spaces after full stops and inconsistent comma use. Practise accurate preposition patterns, clause construction, and sentence boundaries while retaining varied sentence forms.
