Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The letter clearly addresses all three requirements: it describes the theatre, makes a direct invitation, and explains why Shah Rukh Khan is suitable. Details such as its central location, 700 seats, sound and lighting systems, and planned performances make the venue easy to picture. The invitation also includes a date and asks him to meet guests and performers. The reason for choosing him is relevant, especially his contribution to entertainment and popularity, though the claim that his contribution has helped people build successful lives is broad and not clearly connected to opening this particular theatre. Develop this point with a more specific link, such as his influence on audiences or his association with live performance, to make the support more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.5
The information is arranged in a clear sequence: purpose, theatre details, invitation, reasons for the choice, and a polite closing. Paragraphing supports this progression, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “because” help show how ideas relate. The reader can follow the letter without difficulty. Some connections are a little mechanical, however, and the final explanation moves from his popularity to the broad claim about people building successful lives without making the relationship explicit. A more direct transition into a specific reason for his suitability would strengthen the flow. The opening calls this an “email,” although the response uses a conventional letter format; keeping the format and description consistent would also improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 7.0
The response uses a suitable range of vocabulary for a formal invitation, including “officially open,” “inaugurate,” “opening ceremony,” and “outstanding contribution.” These choices communicate the purpose clearly and show some awareness of formal register. There are occasional awkward collocations or word choices, such as “provide audience with modern and comfortable entertainment experience,” “large spacious stage,” and “conduct regular plays.” These do not prevent understanding, but they limit the naturalness and precision of the language. Aim for more idiomatic combinations and avoid doubling similar meanings, as in “large spacious.” More precise wording for the actor’s influence would also make the explanation more persuasive.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including the conditional invitation “We would be greatly honoured if you could attend” and the reason clause beginning “because of.” Meaning remains clear throughout, but some grammatical errors persist. For example, “700 seats which is adjustable” has a plural subject with a singular verb, and “Your contribution has attract” uses an incorrect verb form. Articles are also missing in “provide audience with modern and comfortable entertainment experience.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention in “Moreover, It,” while the closing should use consistent capitalisation. Proofread for subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and articles; these corrections would make the otherwise clear sentences more accurate.
