Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The letter covers all three required points: it describes the theatre, invites the actor to the ceremony, and explains why the actor is suitable. Details such as its location near S.G. Highway and the plan to show the actor’s film make the invitation relevant. The reason that the actor has supported startups and attended opening ceremonies is also pertinent, but it is not fully explained; clarify how this experience would help make the opening successful. The claim that the theatre is “designed for couples” and has effects for animated movies could also be developed so the recipient can picture the venue more clearly. Overall, the purpose is clear, though some supporting ideas are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The information is arranged in a generally logical order: the opening states the purpose, the next paragraph describes the theatre, and later paragraphs make the invitation and justify the choice of guest. Paragraphing helps distinguish these points. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” and “Consequently” show how ideas relate, but some transitions feel mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely. For example, “Consequently” introduces the actor’s followers, while the connection between attending ceremonies and having a large following is not made explicit. The invitation is also repeated in “I am writing to invite you” and “I would like you to invite.” Use clearer references and more natural transitions to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for a formal invitation and includes relevant terms such as “opening ceremony,” “special effects,” “potential customers,” and “consideration.” These choices help communicate the purpose and the theatre’s features. There are, however, some inaccurate or unnatural expressions that reduce precision: “invite you for an opening ceremony,” “a large followers,” and “this move will promote your movie as we as, our theatre.” The phrase “designed for couples” is also unclear in this context and may not convey the intended feature. Aim for more natural collocations and precise wording, especially when describing the promotional benefit and the actor’s audience. The message remains understandable despite these word-choice issues.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter uses a mix of simple sentences and some longer structures, including clauses introduced by “because,” “as a result,” and “therefore.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “it will enhances” should use the base verb after “will,” and “you have a large followers” has an agreement and plural-form problem. In “I would like you to invite for this ceremony,” the sentence structure is incomplete because the intended object or passive construction is missing. There are also punctuation and capitalisation slips, such as “It” after a comma and the missing space before “Furthermore.” Greater control of verb forms, sentence patterns, and punctuation would make the letter more accurate.
