Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The letter clearly covers all three requirements: it gives the theatre’s name, opening date, time and address; explicitly invites Mr. Kapil as chief guest; and explains his suitability through his humour, approachable nature and inspirational career. The reasons are relevant and supported, particularly the point that his speech could motivate employees. The purpose and tone remain clear throughout. To make the ideas more fully developed, add a little more specific information about the theatre itself, such as its size, facilities or the kind of performances it will host. The explanation of his suitability could also connect his public profile more directly to the theatre’s aims, rather than relying mainly on general praise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: the opening paragraph introduces the theatre and event, the next paragraphs make the invitation and explain the choice of guest, and the closing asks for a reply. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these distinct purposes, while phrases such as “because of” and “not only…but also” link ideas. The final request and sign-off also provide an appropriate ending. Some connections are less smooth: “I am sending this special invitation for you as a chief guest” repeats the invitation already made, and the move from the actor’s qualities to “important points” is not explained. Reduce repetition and use a clearer transition to show how the proposed conversation relates to the opening event.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for a formal invitation and includes relevant expressions such as “grand opening,” “role model,” “positive speech” and “quality time.” These choices make the purpose and the writer’s admiration clear. There are also some inaccurate or awkward choices that limit precision: “constructd” and “emplyoees” are misspelled, “occasion” is misspelled, and “conversation on important points” is vague. “Down to earth nature” is understandable but could be expressed more naturally as “approachable nature.” Aim for accurate spelling and more precise collocations, especially when describing the theatre and the actor’s contribution. A few more specific terms would make the letter sound more polished without making it less personal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The letter uses a mix of simple and more developed sentence forms, including the balanced construction “You are not only the best comedian but also the role model for people.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the closing request is clearly phrased. Some grammatical errors remain. For example, “We all be grateful” needs a modal verb (“We would all be grateful”), while “how you started from zero and now you the most famous person” needs a complete, parallel clause (“how you started from zero and are now…”). In “I am sending this special invitation for you as a chief guest,” the preposition and article pattern also needs attention. Review verb forms and sentence completeness, then proofread punctuation and spacing.
