Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter covers all three bullet points: it provides details about the theatre, extends an invitation, and explains why the actor is a suitable choice. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the description of the theatre as 'one of the biggest and advanced' lacks specific detail, and the explanation for why the actor is a good choice relies on a somewhat generic compliment. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'yearly benefits' mentioned or provide more specific details about the theatre's features to make the invitation more persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. There is a clear progression of ideas from the invitation to the description and finally the justification. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'alongside' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor errors in sentence structure, such as the phrase 'along with others co-host'. The referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the theatre description and the invitation could be smoother to improve the overall cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'masterpiece', 'adaptation', and 'entertainment agency'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'opening take place' (should be 'takes place'), 'one the popular' (missing 'of'), and 'one of best classic actors' (missing 'the'). These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a need for more precise control over articles and collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated phrases would enhance the professional tone of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The letter uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement ('opening take place') and missing articles ('one of best', 'form your transportation'). Punctuation is generally functional, though the phrasing 'alongside, other yearly benefits' is slightly awkward. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically ensuring that verbs agree with their subjects and that articles are used correctly before nouns. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures would also help elevate your score.
