Dear Tom Cruise,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing today to invite you as a chief guest to the inauguration of our new cinema theater.
I work as the marketing manager for 'Cineplex' a well-known entertainment establishment in Canada. We have around 320 locations across the whole nation and have been serving the audience since 1984. Now, we are going to open our new location in Barrie, Toronto. This is because of people's high demand in the Barrie region.
As, you are a renowned actor from Toronto, everyone in our team appreciates your talent. I would love to invite you for the inauguration which is planned next week on Saturday evening around 4 pm. Although you have a tight schedule, we are flexible to change the timing of event, as per your schedule.
Moreover, everyone in the city is a huge fan of your acting and this occasion will act as a small meet up with your fans.
Thank you for taking our request into consideration. I hope your schedule allows you to attend our theater's opening ceremony. I hope to hear from you soon.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0
The response successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You provided information about the theatre (Cineplex, 320 locations, new Barrie branch), extended a clear invitation, and explained why the actor is a suitable choice (local connection and fan appeal). The tone is appropriate for a formal letter, and the purpose is clear throughout. The ideas are well-developed and relevant to the task requirements, demonstrating a good understanding of the communicative goal. No parts of the task were omitted, and the content is fully focused on the instructions provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 8.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph serves a distinct purpose, moving from the introduction to the details of the theatre, the invitation, and the closing. You used cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Although' to link ideas effectively. The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter, and the flow of information is smooth. The use of referencing is clear, and the overall structure supports the reader's understanding without any confusion or mechanical repetition of linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'inauguration', 'establishment', and 'renowned' appropriately. While the vocabulary is generally accurate, it is somewhat functional rather than sophisticated. There are no significant errors in word choice that impede communication. To reach a higher band, you could incorporate more precise collocations or less common lexical items related to the entertainment industry. Overall, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message clearly and professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.5
The response displays a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures. You used complex sentences effectively, such as 'Although you have a tight schedule, we are flexible to change the timing of event'. There are minor grammatical slips, such as the unnecessary comma in 'As, you are' and the missing article in 'timing of the event'. However, these errors are infrequent and do not interfere with the clarity of your writing. The majority of your sentences are error-free, showing good control over punctuation and grammar.
