Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You provide information about the theatre, extend a formal invitation, and explain why the actor is a suitable choice. However, the tone is inconsistent; while you attempt a formal approach, phrases like 'bodygards with you every time to protect you' sound slightly unprofessional or overly casual for a business invitation. Additionally, the suggestion to use the opening to promote his new film feels slightly transactional rather than focusing on his prestige as an artist. To improve, ensure the tone remains consistently professional throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use basic cohesive devices like 'I am writing this letter' and 'We chose you', which provide a clear structure. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical, and the flow could be improved with more varied linking words. For example, the jump from describing the theatre's facilities to explaining why you chose the actor is a bit abrupt. Using more sophisticated cohesive devices would help the ideas connect more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'entertainment company', 'facilities', and 'influencer'. However, there are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'promotations' (should be 'promotions') and 'bodygards' (spelling error). Furthermore, the phrase 'I am a very big fan of yours' is slightly informal for a professional letter to a celebrity. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise business-related terminology would elevate the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentences, but there are frequent errors in articles and prepositions, such as 'in the Mumbai' (should be 'in Mumbai') and 'the biggest theatre' (should be 'a big theatre'). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'ABC entertainment planning to open' (should be 'is planning'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the text. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy will help improve your score.
