Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing information about the theatre, extending an invitation, and explaining why the actor is a suitable choice. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. The description of the theatre is brief, and the explanation for why the actor is suitable relies on vague statements like 'your personality has a very good impact'. The tone is also inconsistent; while it attempts a formal letter structure, the language is overly casual and lacks the professional polish required for a business invitation. To improve, you should expand on the theatre's features and provide more specific, persuasive reasons for the invitation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. Transitions between sentences are frequently missing or awkward, such as the abrupt shift in the second paragraph. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow of ideas feels disjointed. To achieve a higher band, you should use a wider range of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to this') to connect your ideas more smoothly and logically throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to convey your message with precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'thetre', 'entertanement', and 'personnality', as well as incorrect word choices like 'I am very fan about your work' instead of 'I am a big fan of your work'. The phrasing is often unnatural and lacks the sophistication expected in a formal letter. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring you use words in their correct grammatical form. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives would also help make your writing more engaging.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include incorrect verb tenses ('I`v watched', 'I will very appreciate'), missing articles, and punctuation errors (e.g., spaces before commas). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'If this happen also you can help me'. To improve, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and basic punctuation rules. Reviewing how to construct formal requests and conditional sentences would also be highly beneficial for your writing accuracy.
