I want to invite you as a chief guest for opening the theatre. I know you are busy but I would appreciate if you could open our new theatre. Our company is very excited to open this new theatre.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You provide information about the theatre's location and features, extend a clear invitation, and offer reasons why the actor is a suitable choice. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though it could be more professional. To improve, ensure that the description of the theatre is more descriptive; for example, instead of saying it is 'very big and beautiful', you could mention specific amenities or the architectural style. The ideas are relevant, but some development is slightly simplistic, which keeps the response at a Band 6 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the task. There is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat basic and repetitive. You rely heavily on simple connectors like 'and' or 'also'. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and phrases to improve the flow between sentences, such as 'Furthermore', 'Consequently', or 'In addition to this'. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, but the transitions between sentences could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and sophistication. Phrases like 'very busy area', 'very big and beautiful', and 'very excited' are quite common and repetitive. There are also some minor collocation issues, such as 'good version screen' (likely meaning 'high-definition screen') and 'invite you on open' (should be 'to open'). To improve, aim for more precise vocabulary that reflects a professional context. Using more specific adjectives and nouns will help demonstrate a wider range of lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'invite you on open' instead of 'to open', and 'it is very busy area' (missing an article: 'a very busy area'). Additionally, there are some punctuation and comma splice issues, such as '...in Edmonton, it is very busy area'. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while ensuring accuracy will help you achieve a higher band score.
