Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 102 words. While you have addressed all three bullet points—providing information about the theatre, issuing an invitation, and explaining why the actor is a suitable choice—the development of these ideas is insufficient. The explanation regarding the theatre's location and the justification for the actor's invitation are quite brief. To improve, you must expand on your ideas with more detail and descriptive language to ensure the letter is fully developed and meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the flow of information. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited. Phrases like 'as you also did' and 'so much that' are used, but the overall structure feels somewhat disjointed due to the brevity of the sentences. To achieve a higher band, you should use a wider variety of linking words and transition phrases (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to this') to create a smoother, more professional flow between your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. There are several spelling errors, such as 'operationl' instead of 'operational', 'hae' instead of 'have', and 'audiance' instead of 'audience'. Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'inform you with joy' or 'did theatre'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you proofread your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes, which currently detract from the professional tone of the letter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Examples include 'It is 50 minutes drives' (should be 'a 50-minute drive'), 'audiance will be appreciate' (should be 'will appreciate'), and 'appearing to movie screen' (should be 'appearing on the movie screen'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the flow of reading. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions, and try to incorporate more varied sentence structures with greater accuracy.
