Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0

The response successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly describe the theatre's features, such as the 600-seat capacity and multimedia equipment. The invitation is explicit and polite, and you provide a logical justification for why the actor would be an ideal guest, linking their influence to the goal of inspiring younger generations. The tone is appropriate for a formal business letter, and the purpose is clear from the outset. To reach a higher band, you could provide slightly more descriptive detail about the theatre's atmosphere or the specific nature of the opening ceremony to further develop the ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 8.0

The letter is well-organized with a clear logical progression. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the task, moving from the invitation to the theatre details, and finally to the justification. The use of cohesive devices such as 'As we all know' and 'In addition' (though implied) helps the flow. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion. The referencing is clear, and the transition between the theatre description and the invitation is smooth. The structure is professional and easy to follow throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary appropriate for a formal business context, such as 'cordially invite', 'valuable time', and 'aspiring actors'. The word choice is generally precise and fits the professional tone required. There are no significant errors in collocation. To improve, you could incorporate more sophisticated or less common lexical items to demonstrate a wider range, such as using 'state-of-the-art' instead of 'modern technologies' or 'prestigious' to describe the theatre. Overall, the vocabulary is sufficient and effectively conveys your message without any confusion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.5

The letter displays a good command of grammatical structures. You use a mix of simple and complex sentences effectively, such as the conditional 'It would be a great pleasure for us, if you could...' and the relative clause '...who admire you for your great acting skills.' While there are minor slips, such as 'on the opening ceremony' (should be 'at') and 'eventually career' (should be 'an eventual career'), these do not impede communication. The majority of your sentences are error-free, and the punctuation is handled correctly, contributing to the professional appearance of the letter.
