Although, the company has opened many theaters in different cities, now it is planning to open a new theater. We have constructed the theater and it is nestled in the heart of city. I cordially, invite you to open this new theater. Our company has selected you due to your well known reputation. The whole city is familiar and has a great appreciation for your acting in many blockbuster movies. Actually,

we have displayed the up coming events on the billboards.

I believe you will accept my proposal of invitation. Hope to hear from you soon.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all three bullet points required by the task instructions. You provided information about the new theatre by describing it as a grand building nestled in the heart of the city, surrounded by famous malls and restaurants. You extended a clear invitation to the famous actor and explained why they would be a good person to open the theatre, citing their well-known reputation and the great appreciation the city has for their acting in blockbuster movies. Although the salutation "Dear sir" does not quite fit the context of addressing a specific famous individual by name, the overall task fulfilment is solid. Your ideas are relevant and adequately developed to meet the requirements of a General Training letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter maintains a clear overall progression and coherent structure. Paragraphing is used to separate the introduction, the details of the theatre, the invitation with reasons, and the conclusion. However, there are some minor mechanical issues with cohesion and referencing. For example, the sentence "Although, the company has opened many theaters in different cities, now it is planning to open a new theater" contains punctuation misuse with the comma after 'Although'. Additionally, the transition into explaining why billboards are displayed is slightly abrupt. Despite these minor flaws, the organisation is logical and easy to follow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as "nestled in the heart of city", "acme", and "cordially". However, there are notable spelling and word choice errors. For instance, "renown" should be spelled "renowned", and the phrase "has reached to its acme" is unnatural in this context. Furthermore, there is an awkward comma in "I cordially, invite you". These lexical inaccuracies show some limitations, but they do not impede overall communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writing exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at varied structures such as subordinate clauses beginning with 'Although' and relative clauses with 'that'. There are, however, several grammatical and punctuation errors. For instance, "I am working in a renown and well established entertainment company" lacks a hyphen in "well-established", and the punctuation around "cordially" is incorrect. You also wrote "the up coming events", which should be a single word 'upcoming'. The majority of sentences are understandable, and errors only occasionally interfere with the flow of reading.
