Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The candidate addresses all parts of the task appropriately. First, information about the new theatre is provided, mentioning features such as five wide screens, a seating capacity of 500 per screen, and Dolby Atmos sound systems. Second, the invitation to open the theatre is clearly stated. Third, the explanation of why the recipient would be a good choice is covered by noting her status as a famous Bollywood actor and her large fan following, which could attract more audience members. The tone is mostly appropriate for an invitation letter to a celebrity, though some phrasing feels slightly direct. Overall, the bullet points are covered adequately, earning a solid band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is generally coherent with a logical overall arrangement. The response is structured into clear paragraphs, starting with an introduction and the purpose of the letter, followed by details of the offer, reasons for the choice, and a closing statement. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, the transition 'Although, our company is highly interested...' is misused, as 'Although' does not fit the intended meaning here. Referencing and cohesive devices such as 'Also' and 'Moreover' are used, but the progression between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The candidate demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully using terms like 'inauguration', 'chief guest', and 'bollywood industry'. However, there are noticeable lexical and collocational errors throughout the response, such as 'I am writing an email to invite you' (usually 'writing to invite' is sufficient since the medium is implied) and 'fan followings' (should be 'fan following'). Phrases like 'offer a life time free membership of a theatre' contain minor awkwardness. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the message, but occasional inaccuracies prevent it from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as the use of conditional and relative clauses ('which might bring more audiance later'). There are several grammatical errors and awkward structures, including 'screens equipped with' (missing the verb 'are'), 'negotiate about the fees and schedule of this event time' (awkward phrasing), and the sign-off 'Your faithfully' instead of 'Yours faithfully'. Punctuation and capitalization errors also appear, such as capitalizing 'We' mid-sentence. While these errors occur frequently, they do not impede overall communication.
