Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all three bullet points required in the task instructions effectively. You provided specific information about the new theatre, named 'Glowing star theatre', including its location and layout with multiple auditoriums and a fun zone. You clearly invited Priyanka Chopra to open the venue by offering her the role of chief guest for the opening ceremony. Furthermore, you explained why she is a suitable person for this role by mentioning her extensive filmography of over 300 movies, her broad appeal across different generations, and her inspiring journey from Bollywood to Hollywood. The tone is polite, appropriate for a formal letter, and meets all requirements of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter maintains a clear overall progression, with paragraphs logically dedicated to greeting and introduction, details of the theatre, and the reasons for the invitation. However, paragraphing could be structured more cleanly, as the second and third paragraphs contain multiple distinct ideas. Cohesive devices are generally used adequately, but some transitions feel a bit repetitive or mechanical, such as 'This theatre...' beginning multiple sentences in succession. Overall paragraph division is present, though logical flow between sentences can occasionally be enhanced for a smoother reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully using terms like 'chief guest', 'cermony', 'role model', and 'motivation'. However, there are notable spelling errors such as 'theartre' instead of 'theatre', 'exicted' for 'excited', and 'cermony' for 'ceremony'. Word choice and collocation are generally sufficient to convey meaning without impeding communication, but the vocabulary remains somewhat standard and lacks the more sophisticated, flexible phrasing characteristic of higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some attempt at variety with structures like 'We really want you to be our chief guest as we see that spark...'. However, there are grammatical inaccuracies and punctuation errors throughout, such as missing articles ('I am manager'), run-on clauses joined with commas instead of appropriate conjunctions or full stops ('Greeting of the day, I am manager...'), and incorrect prepositions ('at Mississauga and William Road'). These errors do not impede communication, but they lower the overall accuracy of the writing.
