Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all the required bullet points of the prompt. You gave information about the new theatre, mentioning its capacity and modern amenities like upgraded screens and music speakers, and included details about local children performing. You clearly invited the actor to open the theatre and explained why they are a suitable choice due to their fame and status in the industry. The tone is appropriate for a formal business letter to a celebrity, although it starts with an informal salutation. All parts of the task are adequately addressed, earning a solid band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks proper paragraphing, as nearly the entire body of the letter is compressed into a single, dense block of text, which affects the overall cohesion and visual structure. While there are some cohesive devices used such as 'also', 'on top of that', and 'as', their usage is sometimes mechanical and awkward. Logical progression is somewhat disrupted by the lack of clear separation between ideas, moving abruptly from facility details to community involvement and then to the invitation. A more organized layout with distinct paragraphs for the introduction, theatre details, and the invitation would greatly improve readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate basic information, but it is marred by numerous spelling mistakes and inappropriate word choices. For example, 'opeing ceromany', 'partiuclar', 'thankfull', 'inogration', and 'ceramony' demonstrate persistent spelling issues. Furthermore, phrases like 'get some lime light' and 'you guys can mange' are too informal for this context and lack precision. Although you attempted some less common phrases like 'most upgraded screens' and 'deeply thankfull', inaccuracies in collocation and spelling limit the lexical score to this band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is quite low. There are fundamental subject-verb agreement errors, such as 'I as the manager of the company is writting', where 'is writing' should match the plural 'we' or be restructured, and punctuation issues like a missing period and a stray apostrophe in 'industry' younare'. Word order and phrasing also feel unnatural in sentences like 'the theatre industry' younare perfect for the first person to be on the stage'. Frequent errors in grammar and punctuation cause some strain for the reader, placing this response firmly in the mid-band range.
