Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The candidate has successfully addressed all three bullet points required in the task instructions. First, relevant information about the new theatre is provided, mentioning its opening on October 3rd and its modern features such as a 4K HD screen. Second, a clear invitation is extended to the actor. Third, reasons are given explaining why he would be suitable, citing his talent, humility, huge fan following, and the connection to his upcoming movie. Although the tone is somewhat informal and direct, all parts of the prompt are covered with relevant ideas, earning a Band 6.0 for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks proper paragraphing, with almost the entire body written as a single, dense block of text, which significantly hinders Coherence and Cohesion. The flow of ideas is somewhat disjointed due to run-on sentences and punctuation issues, such as joining multiple distinct thoughts with commas or conjunctions without proper breaks (e.g., 'The theatre is created with all latest technologies also with 4K HD screen. Our company is want you...'). While the overall purpose of the letter is understandable, referencing is repetitive and logical progression is weak. Therefore, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple terms like 'company', 'open', and 'actor'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'in the industry from the last ten years' (instead of 'for'), 'The theatre is created with' (instead of 'equipped with'), and 'Our company is want you' (grammatical error spilling into vocabulary). The writer attempts some less common phrasing like 'down to earth' and 'fan following', but the overall lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, resulting in a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response shows a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mainly of simple sentences linked by coordinating conjunctions. There are frequent and systematic errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Examples include capitalization issues ('i', 'october', 'gurgopal singh'), missing auxiliary verbs ('now they going to', 'Our company is want you'), and run-on sentences lacking proper periods. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band. A Band 5.0 accurately reflects this level of grammatical control.
