Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task. You successfully addressed the need to give information about the new theatre, extend an invitation to Mr. Sharma, and explain why he is a suitable person for the opening due to the theatre's name inspiration. However, some ideas are a bit underdeveloped and lack full elaboration, and the purpose of the letter contains awkward phrasing such as "I am writing to letter in order to invite my company new theatre." Despite these limitations, all bullet points from the prompt are visibly covered, placing this response at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical overall structure, with an appropriate opening salutation, body paragraphs addressing different prompt requirements, and a polite sign-off. Paragraphing is used to separate ideas, such as introducing the company background, your personal admiration, details about the opening, and the reason for the invitation. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, with abrupt transitions between paragraphs and repetitive referencing, such as starting multiple sentences with "I would like to..." or "Finally, I would also like to...". This results in a coherent overall arrangement but demonstrates some limitations in cohesive control, aligning with a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with terms like "entertainment company", "chief guest", "responsibility", and "invitation letter". There are several noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as "I am writing to letter in order to...", "I am a Assistant Manager an entertainment company", and "It is opened Since 2005." You also made spelling and phrasing mistakes such as "inaguration" instead of "inauguration". While you attempt some less common vocabulary, inaccuracies in word formation and choice place this performance firmly at Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors throughout the text, including missing prepositions or articles ("I am a Assistant Manager an entertainment company"), incorrect verb forms ("It is opened Since 2005"), and tense confusion ("that's why my manager give me responsibility"). Additionally, punctuation around dates and clauses needs refinement. These frequent errors occasionally cause strain for the reader, although they do not completely impede communication, corresponding to a Band 5.5.
