Although we have two other theatre in the main city near museum, the main focus of this theatre will be the women's empowerment and their role in the development of a society.

It would be an honour for us if you could open the new theatre for us. The way you advocate the girls education and you strong stance that every women should be given an equal opportunity to advance in her life and career is inspiring for many young girls. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The candidate has successfully addressed all three bullet points of the prompt. First, relevant information about the new theatre is provided, noting that its main focus will be on women's empowerment and societal development. Second, a clear invitation is extended to the actor to open the venue. Third, the response effectively explains why she would be a suitable person by highlighting her advocacy for girls' education, her strong stance on equal opportunities, and her personal memoir overcoming early career stereotypes. The tone is appropriately polite and formal for a professional request letter, maintaining a clear purpose throughout. All parts of the task are well covered and adequately developed, matching the requirements for a Band 7.0 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter demonstrates a clear overall progression and logical organization. The layout utilizes appropriate paragraphing, transitioning smoothly from the introduction and background information about the theatre to the specific reasons for the invitation and a polite closing. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, such as 'Although we have', 'The way you advocate', and 'Your memoir about...'. However, referencing and cohesion occasionally feel slightly mechanical or repetitive in structure. Overall, the message flows logically from start to finish, fulfilling the criteria for a solid Band 7.0 in this category.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student uses a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey precise meaning, incorporating less common and topic-specific items such as 'formally invite', 'women's empowerment', 'advocate', and 'break those stereotypes'. However, there are a few noticeable lexical and grammatical-category errors, such as 'two other theatre' (should be theatres), 'you strong stance' (your strong stance), 'every women' (every woman), and 'you positive response' (your positive response). Despite these inaccuracies, communication is never impeded, and the vocabulary deployed is adequate for the task. This aligns closely with the Band 6.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at varied structures, such as concessive clauses ('Although we have two other theatres...') and relative clauses ('...how you managed to break those stereotypes and be the person you are today...'). There are several noticeable grammatical errors, including singular/plural mismatch ('two other theatre'), pronoun usage ('you strong stance' instead of 'your'), and article/plural errors ('every women' instead of 'every woman'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, and while errors are present, they rarely impede communication. This balanced profile fits a Band 6.0.
