Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully covers all the required bullet points of the task prompt. You addressed the first bullet point by providing some information about the new theatre, mentioning its location in the city, affordable prices, and good parking spaces. You clearly addressed the second bullet point by directly inviting Priyanka Chopra to open the venue. Finally, you addressed the third bullet point by explaining why she would be a good person for the job, noting that she is a global figure with a large fan following and acts as an inspiration to people. While some ideas like the 'threatre' amenities and the description of her character are a bit basic and could have been extended further, all parts of the task are adequately addressed. Therefore, this fulfills the criteria for a Band 6.0 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter maintains a reasonably coherent overall arrangement and follows a standard letter format starting with 'Dear Priyanka chopra,' and closing with 'Your faithfully, Manpreet Kaur.' However, the logical progression is sometimes hindered by the paragraphing and lack of smooth cohesive devices. Sentences tend to be disjointed, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'with the demand of public for more branches, owner decide to open big one with a lot facilities'. Paragraph breaks are present, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs feels somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Furthermore, there are punctuation and capitalization issues throughout that disrupt the flow. These features place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 range.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it is rather limited and basic. You attempted some less common vocabulary items such as 'global figure', 'dedication', and 'appricate', but these attempts are often accompanied by spelling errors ('appricate', 'remindable', 'threatre', 'alot') and awkward word choices or collocations. For instance, writing 'your a global figure' (using the incorrect contraction of 'you are') and 'Having a alot of fan following... we really appricate' demonstrates noticeable lexical limitations and spelling inaccuracies that occasionally cause strain for the reader. Despite these flaws, the meaning remains understandable, aligning with the requirements of a Band 5.0 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempted a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'As you always promote as well as manage your time for your loving ones.' However, your writing contains frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles. Examples include 'new theatre' missing an article ('the new theatre'), 'our company now decide' instead of 'decided', 'owner decide', 'as your a global figure' instead of 'you are', and 'if you came' mixed with present-tense contexts. Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, with several sentences beginning with lowercase letters like 'our company manager' and 'with the demand'. Because these frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader while still allowing the general message to be understood, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
