Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully covers all the bullet points outlined in the prompt. You gave clear information about the new theatre, including its location in the Juhu area, its high-quality LED screens, and modern technology. You clearly invited the actor Amit to open the venue, fulfilling the second requirement. Finally, you explained why he would be a suitable person by mentioning that you are a huge fan and that his status as a global star would attract a larger audience. The tone is appropriate for an informal letter to a famous personality. Ideas are well-developed and relevant, satisfying the requirements for a Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter is logically organised with a clear beginning, middle paragraphs addressing specific points, and a polite closing. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, theatre details, the invitation, and the closing remarks. Cohesive devices are generally handled well, using words such as 'Additionally', 'Furthermore', and 'hence' to connect ideas, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Referencing is mostly clear, ensuring the reader can follow your points smoothly throughout the letter. This corresponds to a solid Band 6.5 or 7.0 structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'opening ceremony', 'latest technology', and 'global star'. However, there are a few lexical and spelling inaccuracies, such as 'sonal' (capitalisation error), 'exeperience' (spelling), 'noise free' (hyphenation), and 'occassion' (spelling). You also make a collocation error with 'writing behalf of' instead of 'writing on behalf of'. While you attempt some less common vocabulary, these slips place your lexical performance firmly in the Band 6.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I believe this is going to be a biggest theatre...' and 'You are very excellent actor and global star as well hence, having you...'. There are several grammatical errors present, including missing articles ('opening behalf of the Zee cinema', 'a biggest theatre'), preposition misuse ('invite you on this special occassion' instead of 'to'), and punctuation errors like run-on sentences and comma splices near 'as well hence'. These errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not impede overall communication, placing your grammar at a Band 6.0.
