Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all three parts of the prompt. You introduce the new theatre by mentioning its location and capacity ('biggest perfomance venue of this town with the capacity of holding 700 viewers'), formally invite the actor ('I am writing to inivite you to open our new theatre'), and explain why he is suited for the role ('An entire management suggested your name for the chief guest. In addition, you can promote your upcoming movie'). Ideas are generally clear and relevant, though the development of some points is a bit repetitive. For instance, the reasons why he is a good choice overlap across paragraphs. Overall, however, the communicative purpose is fully achieved, earning a solid band score.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a clear overall structure with an appropriate greeting and sign-off, and it is divided into logical paragraphs that separate the introduction, theatre details, invitation reasons, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Now', 'In addition', and 'Also', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Referencing is mostly clear, although the progression between the third and fourth paragraphs could be smoother, as the reasons for the invitation are split across both sections. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to organise your ideas, fulfilling the requirements for this band level.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with a mix of everyday words and some attempts at less common items, such as 'entertainment company', 'performance venue', and 'work ethics'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'inivite' instead of invite, 'at downtown' instead of downtown, and 'regarding to' instead of regarding or related to. Additionally, 'viewers' is less natural than 'spectators' or 'audience' in a theatre context. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional or relative clauses ('It will be the biggest perfomance venue of this town with the capacity of holding 700 viewers at once'). There are several grammatical errors and awkward structures, such as 'We run an entertainment company regarding to a theatre dramas' (unnecessary article and preposition) and sentence fragments like 'Also, who can inspire our actors by giving them a guidance' (unnecessary relative pronoun and uncountable noun usage). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of grammatical slips places this response securely in the band 6 category.
